Fox ran it for a little while... ah memories of my childhood. I didn't see many when Fox ran it... what little I saw was enough to get me laughing.

The show is so much better when you're 8.

Of course, compared to most of the crap they have for cartoons now... it looks pretty good.

Yeah I have seen the three first episodes and they are great. In the first one appears Tiamat the dragon is kool.

The monster art wasn't bad in that show. I liked the way Tiamat looked in particular.

Anyway in what year was created Dungeons and Dragons in general not the serie???? And who was the first perso creating D&D????? I think you can understand my questions.

The cartoon was released about the same time as 'advanced' basic D&D was (different than Advanced Dungeons and Dragons (AD&D)). Most of the classes in the cartoon were from the 'new' classes (Ranger, Barbarian, Acrobat, Cavalier. Thief and Wizard were the two exceptions.).

The cartoon was definately based on the rules (well, loosely... very loosely).

As for D&D's start... it started out as a table top war game (like Warhammer). Instead of classical historical re-enactment battles the designers wanted a fantasy game kind of like Lord of the Rings (and the Adventures of Fahfred and Grey Mouser).

Here's one of the best histories I've read about the game

http://www.gamers.com/s/feature/001010-dnd3_3/history1

The first 5 or so pages of it are great (it's a few years old ... NWN was in development and nobody could possibility have expected the movie, which was in production, to suck so hard).
