What kind of features you want for MMORPGDot? |
|
What kind of features would you like to see on MMORPGDot? Please, give me suggestions and I'll try to do what I can (still learning to be a editor @ site)
Do you want to read about certain games? Which games? Interviews? Beta reports?
I'm currently in Realms of Torment beta myself and I plan to do a feature about that... _________________ =Moderator of General MMORPG talk forum=

What feature would I like to see? Speed. mmorpgdot is the slowest website I visit regularly. I've seen it take up to 27 seconds to load. (Yes, I've timed it.)
Rpgdot is nice a zippy, mmorpgdot is a snail. |

You know, after thinking about this for a while I come back to my first (maybe rather silly) idea:
I don't know if that would even be possible for you guys... I dream of a place that would report on the total server population of every (or at least many) MMORPG. One of the deciding factor in choosing a place to play, for me, is whether the game is populated enough. Even the best game can be boring if no one plays it.
I know that DAoC and AC have sites that report on their server population, I'm sure others do too. But as I already said, that might be either too time-consuming if you can't directly feed the numbers through some XML code provided by these respective games, or maybe even completely impossible.
Just a thought I'm throwing up in the air _________________ =Proud Father of a new gamer GIRL!=

I'd like to see some interviews or reviews or something. _________________ "What are you gonna do? Release the dogs?! Or the bees?! Or dogs with bees in their mouth so that when they bark they shoot bees at you?" - Homer Simpson |

Jon, I forwarded your message to Myrthos, the tech wiz of this site, and he made some improvements for the site speed.
How does it feel now? To me it is a lot better now and I think Myrthos is still doing tweaking _________________ =Moderator of General MMORPG talk forum=

You mean adding a game yourself? We won't go that far at the moment. If something like that is implemented then it will be something like visitors being able to submit a game after which we review the submission before it's available in the database.
I'm not sure what you mean with the rest. What things are you referring to. Release dates of games? We do have a releaselist (see menu to the left) I don't think the link is present no MMORPGDot but it could be made and so that it only displays online games.
and what do you mean with 'a link button'?

Sounds interesting. I don't know how something like that is done, but it's worth looking into. _________________ Kewl quotes:

The speed problem should be solved by now. What's your experience? _________________ Rendelius

That's the site I found for MMOG subscription numbers.
As far as features I'd like to see for MMORPGdot, they do a very good job on the news front, that's what keeps me coming back. As long as you keep that up, I'll keep coming back. I can't think of anything more important than that. The more relevant news the better. I also like the format too, one line at top-short paragraph below-full story link.
The release list is nice, it could be more precise though. Maybe something on the front page which lists the next few MMORPGs due out soon would be nice.
A website's speed doesn't bother me much as I usually have several windows open at the same time and I'm looking at about 5-7 other things on the net at the same time. Right click - open in new window, anyone? hehe |

Well, i would like to see the following games covered in-depth (if possible) with interviews, features or whatever you can do:
-- Dragon Empires (which you are doing already, great going!)
-- Darkfall Online (one of my favs upcoming, RvR-type game)
-- Everquest 2 (non-PvP but great graphics and gameplay i hope)
-- Trials of Ascension (for a niche crowd, like me)
Those are the four mmorpgs i am following closely and, well, you asked which games to cover, so there you have it.
btw, i am really glad you have Dragon Empires interviews. |
