Map & Hotkeys

Hi all,

I'm a Gothic beginner and I have a few questions concerning controls...

Firstly, why shouldn't I get any map although it appears that the 'M' key is associated with map display in the default control menu?

Secondly, how can I define hotkeys (or combo) like for instance 'Key1' for sword & 'Key2' for bow?

Thanks a lot for any help.

As for the map - you need to get a map. The map feature will work only if you have acquired a map, it's not a full automap as seen in some other games.

Thanks for your help!

That's what I had guessed but I really wanted to be sure!

About hotkeys, I've just found this answer...

Thanks for trying to help. I have the English version and the page with keys on is 18. However I finally worked it out, so if anyone is struggling this is how to use a scroll ...

Go into your inventory and l click on the scroll. The box will go red and a number will appear. The number isa hotkey. Close your inventory and press the hotkey. you will ready the scroll. Left click the mouse button to target the scroll. Press a direction key to use the scroll ... as I said, not intuitive and not explained in the manual ... I am also coming to the conclusion that combat is click and hope ... hmmmm

I thought I already had tried this but I'm gonna check once more...
