Questions about the Irritating Detect Traps Skill

Okay, is this like lockpick? Do I HAVE to invest in it? I'm in the first level of the dungeon under the Cursed Abbey, and the damned traps cross the entire width of the wall!

I sucked it up and invested in two levels of Detect Trap, but what's the point of detect trap if there's NO WAY around the trap? There doesn't seem to be any Disarm Trap skill, and, like I said, the traps are so wide that there's no "going around." What's the deal here?

Don't bother with that skill. It's practically worthless IMO.

Detect traps skill let you see a traps which actually always on the floor (in red color). You disarm them by hovering mouse pointer over the trap area & click it. If you can't see any trap sign around but suddenly drop dead when walking on certain areas/floors, that mean your trap skill is not high enough to detect/to see & disarm the traps. Also, there is evade traps skill available to let you more often than not escape from triggered traps.
