I'm new to this particular forum, so my apologies if this question is common knowledge. I see a lot of msgs, files, info, etc. about re-makes of various different Ultima titles. My question is simple. Have *any* of these ever been finished? You know, completely done and playable from start to finish. If so, which ones and where can I find them. It seems that many have been started over the last few years, but most have been abandoned. Thanks. |

As far as I know none have been completed.
Most of the ones that are still active are the Dungeon Seige conversions.

There are a handfull finished and playable projects. The Ultima IV remake by george stepan, and the ultima IV NWN mod by Zonker. EUO is a playable online U5 inspired game.
I will compile a compleat overview of playable ultima projects next weekend,

Check Aiera. It lists most known Ultima remakes and Ultima-themed game mods, and features latest-version downloads for most of them as well.
After a quick browse through there, I can see that there are:
- 2 completed Akalabeth remakes (original graphics)
- 1 completed remake of Ultima 1 (although not a true remake - it's a Java applet that runs it in a web browser) (original graphics)
- 1 completed Ultima 2 remake (original graphics)
- 1 completed Ultima 3 remake (or rather a port - to Macintosh) (original graphics)
- 2 completed Ultima 4 remakes (1 with original graphics, 1 using NWN)
Aaaaaaannnnnnnd......
- 1 completed Ultima 7 remake (original graphics)
