Ok, in the trade menu with NPCs, I can get things from the NPC's items into the center column, but I can't get things from my items to trade for his items! What am I doing wrong??? I press CTRL and the right arrow button when highlighting an item, but nothing happens! I can't buy or sell things!

You move items from NPCs inventory to center in same way as from your inventory to center. You just need to use other "side command" because you move them to other side.
Here is this trading described:
Use + turn right - 1 item from NPC to center
Use + turn left - 1 item from you to center
Use + strafe right - 10 items...
Use + strafe left - 10 items...
Use + shift + left - 100 items...
Use + shift + right - 100 items...
