@Chekote, I think you made several valid points, however I'll explain my point of view more clearly. Lets read this once more:

Pub is according to my knowledge, private property of it's owner. You can see that I use terms 'private' and 'public' in this way. And owner should be the only one who decides what is allowed and what is not allowed in his/her house (and therefor also in his/her pub). I can think only about one reason that can limit these rights - when your behaviour limits others rights (too much noise for example).
Thats it. I'm not a smoker. So I've not problem with banning smoking everywhere. Only thing I'm afraid of is "Big Brother" style (If you've read Orwell's novel 1984, you know what I'm talking about).
I doubt someone should force me to do something just because he/she thinks it's good for me (and again with only one exception...). |
