What a shame for you North American RPGamers: You waited sooo long for both Gothic and Wizardry 8, now it turns out both are going to be relased on the very same day.
Which one will you be playing (first)?

Wizardry 8 for me, without a doubt. I haven't been this excited since I was a kid. Gothic looks great too, but Wizardry is my favorite style of game.

edit:
Just clarifying I'll play Wiz 8 first, not exclusively. I'll definitely get Gothic too.

Wizardy 8 all the way... Gothic looks cool but I love the Wizardy and M&M type rpg's and there haven't been any new releases of that type for a long while. Hey Rend how about creating a Wizardy 8 forum section cause now with it actually being released there is something to talk about.

Sure, sure - if there is demand, there will be a forum. So sign this thread as a petition *g*.

BTW - Gothic or Wizardry 8? Both, of course. Who would like to pass one of them, really

Luckily I have already finished Gothic so it will be a easy choice for me. A Wiz 8 forum gets my vote.

Both! I've only bought 1 computer game in the last year so I've got a lot of pent up gaming energy and golf season is over so...

I've also played the German version of "Gothic", so it'll be Wizardry 8! But still no word of an European releasedate ! I think a Wizardry 8-forum will be very useful.

Yeah, you guys should make a W8 board now.

As for which games I'll play 1st (and I'm definitely getting both), I'll probably get the cheapest !

It's pretty cool. Gothic has already been released, so the game will have the latest patch. And Wizardry VIII has gone through an awful long time of QA. Looks very nice indeed!

A Wiz 8 board is a good idea, I agree. As for a European Publisher, Robert Sirotek (President of SirTech) told me he concentrated on the North American Market only so far, but if anyone of you is having trouble getting an imported version from the states, go try my local dealer http://www.pcfun.de, they ship europe-wide and get every US game withiun 2 oor 3 days...

Gothic is already out in a german version, and will hopefully be properly patched, if necessary, when the english version arrives, so I guess I will start with that.
Buying a game from a direct overseas importer dealer, will often cost you over 100$ for a game, but hey, if you got money there is a way!

100$ ???
Are you sure you are talking about $ and not DM? This sounds extremely expensive to me. Even amazon.com plus international shipping could be cheaper.

Well, the game it self cost maybe from the publisher around 100DM or ca.50$. But the dealer somewhere else in europe have to add 20-40$ due to shipment costs and profit. When he send me the product (to another country), he again have to charge shipment around 5-10$ depending on the way you pay the game. All added up ends up in an area, from 75-100$. We also have an direct overseas dealer, in my home country, and they usually charge around 70-80$ for a special import, but sadly they don't get all the good games!
