Maximum stats

I was truely upset when I found out that my Dex max'ed out at 30 . You can NOT raise an elf's dex above 30. Man oh man, was I bumming. I figured that I could get it up to about 32 with out spells and then cast cat's grace and BINGO 34 - 36 .... get bracers of Dex +4 and allocate the 20th level point to Dex and then the range would be 36-38 for a dex modifier of +13 to +14 !!!! This adds to saving throws, melee to hit, bows, initiative, and AC. What an all around great thing. And now I find I am limited to 30 for a lousy stinkin' +10 dex bonus .

(H'mmm guess I have a power gamer streak in me, eh? )

In any case, does any one know if this is true for all races all stats? Are all races limited to 30? Or is an elf limited to 26 Str 30Dex and 28 all other, while humans are limited to 28 for all?

How come I haven't heard about this before?

Ok, to be honest I don't have a clue what you are talking about.

I have a rouge that has had more then 30 in dex, it is a halfling. I don't know how much it has, wait...*Starting up NWN to check*...right now I have 27 in dex. But I am sure, allmost sure, that I had atleast 33 in dexterity.

I haven't heard of any stat restrictions.

No problems here. I'm sure I've seen stats over 30..I can't find any threads on the Bioware site about it.
Sorry

my sorceress' charisma is 30 with items and doesn't increase with eagle's splendor
I hope stats can go higher than 30 because I still have 2 points to allocate (lvl 16 and 20) and maybe I can even find more charisma raising items (or improve Sharwyn's belt and Boddyknocks ring)
The ability score in the manual (for bonus spells) goes up to 41 !

Okay, I really tested the living daylights out of this limit last night. I bought bracers of Dex +2 and +3 to give me a spread and yup, no matter how I stacked the items, or what order, there is a cap of 30 on an elve's Dex, but wait! There is a resource I've not tapped yet ....

I just checked out the bioware boards and the theory there seems to be that no stat can have more then +/- 10 in bonuses to it. So a base DX of 20 limits me to a 30 total dex .... I *think* my base is 20

@ TheRaven, what was is your base Char?

How the *bleep* did you get a Dex of 24? Let's see that's 5 from levels which means you spent 20 points (of your initial 30) to get a 19 ... oh wait ... an elf or hobbit would only need to spend 13. Okay, that is do-able

Hey, thats in real life!

No, but I tried to make a char like that but got tired. The lightsaber was a longsword with acid damage.
