How do u do this? I used my silver sword and it didnt kill it. Can somebody give me a specific weapon or spell to use cause these things are really annoying. |

Well, take a weapon made of silver, or any magical weapon, and hit it. lather, rinse repeat. There's no special way to kill ghosts, they die as easily as any other creature.
Unless you're getting a message "Your weapon has no effect" when you hit the thing, your weapon is working fine. But you're probably not good enough to hit it easily.

Try firing off a spell at it. Otherwise, follow this quick set of instructions:
Go to inventory screen.
Equip silver or enchanted weapon
Smack the offending ghost until it collapses into a small pile of dust.
NOTICE: You *may* have already killed the ghost in question if it is displayed by a name and a small pile of dust.
If the above does not work, try once more. If it once again fails to work, quit Excel and start up Morrowind. Not that I have anything against Excel, but it is, in fact, noted for NOT containing Ancester Ghosts.
I'm just kidding. If you're not receiving said message "Your weapons are ineffective", you're just missing the ghost. Keep trying.

Erm, lawnmower, if my method doesn't work, you want him to do exactly the same thing, except because you said it in different words?
Well, except for the "close excel" thing, you never know.
