Baldurs Gate Or Diablo? Which Is Best?

ALL OF THE DIABLO'S AND BALDUR'S GATE'S ARE INCLUDED IN THIS POLL. I Choose Diablo because of the mass weaponry and the graphics. Your character can move more, and the online play is better. It also has a mass array of items, and monsters. The LVL Up system is also better. The bad thing is, you couldn't personalize your character as much as on Baldur's Gate. There also arent as many different skills to use (Unless Your A Necromancer Or Sorcerrer Of Course).

You need to clarify what you are asking.

The poll Says "Baldurs Gate or Diablo?" but does not specify what you are asking..

Which is worse?
Which is best?
Which came first?
Which is a fruit?
What???

My vote goes to Baldur's Gate. I enjoy humor and story more than running around killing random things.

Baldur's Gate is by far the better Game.

I played Diablo I & II both until Hell-Mode, and then the Boss-Monsters are so hard that you either can hope to form a Party (and most Diablo-Players are either Munchkins, PKer, Cheaters or a Combination of this Traits) or kill easy Monsters until you gain a very high Level or die of Boredom because the Bosses are unbeatable if you just play it "on one Walkthrough". It turns into a Level-Treatmill at that Point.

I replayed Baldur's Gate with Dozens of Maincharas and Combinations of joinable NPCs - and of course interesting Mods (At the Moment I play the BG 1 NPC-Projekt, after this I give unfinished Buisness another Go, two excellent Mods). There is always something new to find out while Diablo stays basically the same (Kill Monsters, take Loot, sell Loot, gamble your Gold away until you get better Equiqment, repeat until Level-Up, try a Boss, repeat until you beat the Boss, play until you meet the next Boss, repeat - it doesn't matter what Class you play).

Oh NO'S! This is so sad.... What's happening to the genre? What bad has it done to deserve such a cruel fate?

Blizzard unlished a monster which noone is able to tackle.

Why, why would anyone compare BG to Diablo? They have about as much in common as a train and a plane - both have wheels and both can drive... They're games of different genres - DIFFERENT. You know what Blizzard should've done years ago when they released Diablo? They should've announced an invention of a new genre, rather then taking that bastard son into a good and prosperous family. He killed the family members one by one over the course of years, he did... Novadays, younger gamers laugh at CRPG's because the later have boring stories and don't require as much "skillz" to play them. My oh my, this genre is doomed it seems.

P.S.Btw, "Ultima X Oddissey" went belly up recently - donno if most of you know this "news" already.

P.S.2: I didn't cast my vote, because I consider this poll a blasphemy.

Right, both are totally different types of game. That said, I enjoyed both Diablos far more than BG, not because of the gaming style but I never liked the Forgotten Realms setting for AD&D. And Tyrael's beauty really impressed me...

When Diablo was released, the CRPG family was neither good nor prosperous.
It was facing virtual extinction. Oddly enough, instead of killing the family
members, Diablo did much to save the genre. Due to the huge success of Diablo, investors were willing to risk money on a weak CRPG market.

Nowadays, younger gamers laugh at CRPG's because the later have boring stories and don't require as much "skillz" to play them.

There is certainly truth in what you say here. However, I would not blame Diablo... more so the rise of the console gaming mentality. Not that there is anything wrong with that. People are gonna like what they like.

My oh my, this genre is doomed it seems.

Sadly, you could be correct.

My wote goes for Baldur's Gate because....

Diablo is just: Click, click, click, click, click, click, click....

While Baldur's Gate is: Click, click, Space, click, Space, click, M, Esc, Move Mouse, Click, Click, Right-Click, Click, Space, Click, Click, Space, Click...

...oh..and Sarevok was SOO cool!
