I have joined the old camp and i am now a shadow...but Scorpio tells me he only trains guards......how do i become a guard?....also is the armor that diego offers after you become a shadow worth buying?....one more thing....i have a PIII 800mhz with a Geforce2 Ultra but the game is still very choppy at times?.....what is up,...does anyone else have a problem with slowdown? |

The armour is worth buying. Check the table on GothicDot to verify this.
Raven orders you to do investigations in the Sect Camp. You can become guard or fire mage after that.
How much free RAM do you have? Gothic is a RAM eating monster. |

I'll add to what Gorath said:
Specifically, you can become a Guard after you kill the Crawler Queen in the Old Mine.
If you go to Miltin, he'll tell you that Corristo wants to talk to you, so that you can become a Fire Mage.
