After playing NWN for some time, i think it have more action than roleplaying, well, certainly more action/fights than BG2 had. It makes me kinda dissapointed. Anyway, i love this game, probably the best game I have played. Even closed to Arcanum.
But it could have had more bigger side quests and a little more talking. I mean, deeper converstaions. |

The SP player module is very action orientated with a good story to back it up. Not much room for role-playing. I think, you can really only role-play a noble do-gooder [good] or a scoundrel [evil]. I play a good character so I never except rewards [when I have the option] for my good deeds and never mug or assault non-evil NPCs. Anyways, I'm enjoying this game. _________________ = Member of The Nonflamers' Guild =

True, the focus is on action. Why? Action sells games. _________________ Freeeeeeedom! Thank heavens it's summer!

after a while, playing singleplayer just felt like playing dungeon siege. maybe it's the not-quite-mid-way-i'm-starting-to-lose-interest-but-i'll-prolly-regain-it-later-on-though-i-don't-know-it-now-slump that i get sometimes.

Hmmm, I'm still playing this game while I deleted and sold Dungeon Siege after a very short period of time. But to be true, it reminds me a little of Diablo. _________________ Jaz |

I think the amount of action is fine. The storyline things get a little boring after a while, especially if you are doing it for the second or third time. And its not really action. Just click and sit back and enjoy the show.
Even if you think there is a lot of action in it I wouldn't go as far as comparing it to Diablo. Even if I play NWN for the rest of my life I don't think I will kill as much monsters in it as I did in Diablo. _________________ =Moderator of The RPGDot Shadows=

Compared to the games I usually play and enjoy, NWN does remind me of Diablo. I like it despite it's just not my genre. _________________ Jaz |

NWN single player pales in comparison to the plot and quality of BG2, or Arcanum for that matter. There's some room to roleplay and the immersion is good, but still the magic that surronded BG2 is gone. I'm not complaining, though. The SP was nice and quite good, althoug ch 2 and 3 were a bit dull and similar. Compared to arcanum, the gameworld is small and you have very limited options on where to go, which isn't good.
The multiplayer is the reason I bought the game, though. I've gotten some nice experiences on the potential of NWN, expecially in the roleplaying side. More than a couple of times I have just wandered to a server without knowing whether it's for serious roleplaying and had a great time with other players. _________________ "If you can't get rid of the skeleton in your closet, you'd best teach it to dance."
