Funky green squares under someone's nick.

I entered the forum today, and I found some funky green squares under people's nicks. Is this some popularity contest? Or is it that little gremlin in my eye that does weird things again?

xSamhainx got three yellow squares; he must have got too many girls, I guess.

Thanks for your quick reply. :3

Showing someone's own mistakes in public is a little harsh in my opinion. Gotta hate those prejudice people would make. Oh well, this is not my forum, so BAH, hahaha. XDDDD

Actually, I think it's kinda neat ='.'=
It's like I have a row of medals or something. Me and Roqua ought to start a usergroup, you gotta have at least 2 yellow medals to join.

It came sort of automatic with the update of the warning system. I'm not convinced it should stay either. It does serve a purpose in finding errors and other issues related to the warning system at the moment. When they are all ironed out, they might be gone again.... or not.

I can see it as a quick way for all the members to protest if the number of warnings seems too high, or if it shows someone has a warning in the system and they don't feel that is right. They can pm you I guess and let you guys sort out the bugs.

But I really think it is unfair to have that showing for the general forum population to see. Some people get a warning on stuff and never do anything else while here. Those members should be given the chance to let it die. Hard to do with it hanging there for all to see. It leaves the door open for them to be prejudged by others as well. Just not a good idea IMHO.

It works just like the old one - five warnings and you're out. It's just new code.

Don't worry about the squares, we're still in the experimental stage. Just let me tell you that neither the amount of squares nor the color are of any consequence right now... it's still trial and error.
Once the system works the way we want it to work, we'll inform you.

So how does it exactly work, or how will it gonna work, because, like Jaz said, we're still experimenting.

1 green = no warnings
2 yellow = one or two warnings
3 orange = three warnings
4 red = 4 warnings

I've only see 1 green and 2 yellow upto now

And no blocks means that you stand above the law (Guardians).

That only applies to admins as they can not be warned or banned. Atleast not through the regular warning system.

Isn't it better to reward than to punish, like raisig a dog. You reward it when it does something good and don't punish it when it does something wrong. Stimulating good behaviour is better than punishing bad behaviour.

So instead of block when you get a warning you should get blocks when you don't have any warnings at all.

Or am I talking nonsense again.
