Stuff I would like to see in future Gothic games. |
|
1. More combat mode moves, for example:
- a parry that would give you a split second opening to attack
- shields that could be used to block projectiles, monsters, fire, etc...
- sidesteps combined with an attack
- quick defensive rolls to dodge incoming spells, for example
Some of these would require training, and would have levels
2. Slight color variations in the weapon trail that indicate why the combo
broke, for example - imperfect timing, low skill, the weapon hit an
obstacle, etc...
3. Introduce some randomness in monster's attacks. Prevent monsters
from occupying the same space.
4. More varied weapon characteristics - range, speed, damage, requirements.
5. Stacking for weapons in inventories, and the ability to have inventory
pages, so that we can keep food on one page, weapons on another, etc...
6. Strength requirements for armour.
7. More damage types - crushing vs cutting for starters.
8. Underwater exploration and combat - weapons like spears should work.
9. The ability to disguise one's allegiance, in at least some situations.
10. The ability to enhance an existing weapon - poison, enchantment,
sharpening...
11. A bit more balanced training costs. Learning how to cut a horn off
should not be as hard as learning how to skin an animal... same for
potion recipes - once one knows how to brew the small healing potion,
one should not have such a hard time learning how to brew the medium. |

All of these are good ideas. I'm sure I'll come up with some as well when I finish Gothic 2, which so far is much better than Gothic. |

'Sidesteps combined with an attack' and 'quick defensive rolls to dodge incoming spells' are really smart ideas , I like them because we need them indeed since the seekers are now verrrry hard to defeat.

seekers hard? i killed them with 2 hits...
but anyway, there are many topics about 'new things'. if you checked all the forums, you found about 3 or 4 topics about it. _________________ Always wondering how it would be... |

Hoooold on, Neo_Genesis, I doubt you mean you can beat a seeker with 2 hits just in G2, not G2Addon!
In G2Addon, seekers can spell rain of fire, large fire strom, thunder strom, .... lots of powerful spells, yes, now them could beat you with 2 spells.

I would like to see that ability to wield two one-handed weapons at once and attack with them in each hand. _________________ OMG! WTF?! MONKEYS!!!!

or you have a button like 'x' and when you press it, you hold your sword in your other hand, and when you are not trained in that. you will drop the sword _________________ Always wondering how it would be... |

I would like to see a much more advanced combat and defence system, i mean there are a lot of combo's, but when you look at an older game like Oni, you see much better fighting and dodging however the last thing i want to see is that the nameless hero turns into some Mangafreak with a fancy haircut (all dutch speaking people know what i mean with 'haircut') _________________ One blade good, two blade better |
