NotR - Vaturas won't help with the Eye...

So I'm playing through the new NotR section (German version) and I have no way of moving the main plot on, back in Khorinis. Vaturas will not help with the Eye of Innos until there's another Water Mage to replace him. Is this normal? I'm worried I've hit a scripting bug, as none of the water Mages will even let me suggest this to them... Do I have to complete the new section before the old plot moves on?

Anyone?

Yes you will need to do the main addonquest and kill Raven before you can complete the Eye of Innos quest.

Thanks. That seems a bit tough. I wonder why it was thought necessary?

Some people had a major bug at the ceremony quest, depending on whether or not a new game was started after the patch was applied.
