Next-Gen MMORPGs! Which are YOU gonna get?

Originally this post was for just what I thought were gonna be the *Big Three* MMORPGs comin' out this Christmas. But I massively screwed up ... So now it's just what MMORPG in general are you looking forward to most!

Personally, I'm savin' up for Asheron's Call 2. The graphics are absoloutely amazing (in fact, a whole lot better than EQII, which is gonna be released over a year after), and AC1 was by far the best of the previous generation of MMORPGs. (Gameplay-wise, addiction factor ...) November is gonna be the ultimate month of RPGs this year -- with Gothic II & Asheron's Call 2, I fear I shan't see the light of day until I surface for Christmas presents!

AC2

Gotta agree with you on the addiction factor of AC1. Also have to agree that I won't see the sun until Christmas because of AC2 and Gothic2.

I will play AC2 until SWGs comes out. I have no interest in SB and i am a little squeemish about EQ2, so definately AC2 will be my choice purchase of those three. Also, dont forget SWG in December, although it might not be released until 2003.

Holy crappola, do I feel like an idiot or what? EQII is released in November 5th of 2003 (THREE!) not 2002 ... Argh, silly, silly me ... straight to prison.

So basically this can no longer be a *Big Three* poll ... So, might as well make it any and all big MMORPGs comin' out I can think of! Yeah, I feel mildly dumb.

But what the hey, AC2 is still my #1 vote!

Man you had me hoping.

Anywho, since EQ2 is coming out 2003 I'm probably gonna do AC2 and maybe Earth and Beyond too. Which is really cool BTW. I'm fairly certain I can say that and not break the NDA. Be even cooler if I could play it fullscreen like I could the first time I launched it, now everyother time it goes to windowed mode no mater what.

I asked in another thread but no one responded.
Can anyone recommend a good server to play AC on? Anyone? Anyone?

Bueller? Bueller?

Personally, AC2 and SWG. AC2 first, and see how SWG develops. I don't trust it any more. Too much hype. Was thinking of Shadowbane maybe. I like their chracter development (if it's true to the written text).

But ultimately, they all take a back seat to Gothic2! Yeah baby! YEAH!

I personally can't say I've been too excited by Star Wars Galaxies so far, to be honest. I understand it has quite a bit of time left in development, but it really doesn't look that great to me. The graphics look surprisingly bland, and lifeless. They can't be Morrowind, of course, but I would have expected a little more ... depth, I suppose is the word. I don't know, maybe I'm just crazy, but I'm definitley not crazy about SWG. Asherons' Call 2, on the other hand ...

For me, As a long time AC1 player there is only one choise, AC2.

AC1 was my first real MMORPG, since that I've played many others including AO, UO, DAOC Mimesis Online, Project Entropia (all in betas) etc.. But AC still has my vote!

Have always been a Gothic fan, so voted Gothic 2.
