What do i do with the gemstones

Ive got a lot of gemstones, diamonds, emeralds and such... what do i do with them.. where can i sell them. i tried selling them at the bank but that doesnt work.. Can anyone help ?

You can sell them at the shop accross the Maria's shop. (it seems that after your 1st visit the shopkeeper goes home until some quest is done, so sell the stuf you have at that point right away).

Alternatively you can trade with the king of goblins.

An emerald is required for one side-quest. What else to do with the gemstones, I have no idea.. may be combining them with plain rings, and enchant them with magical properties?
