READ THIS ! - Possible Random-Crash Fix ! |
|
Ok, lets post it here too...
Turn off your anti-virus software !
So far I have tested with Norton, F-Secure and McAfee.
Each and every time I disable any of those I'm using
I get hours of fun without any RANDOM GAMEPLAY crashes.
Those do not seem to be memory resident problems as many
have suggested.
(Tested with 256Mb - 1536Mb sticked to my slots.)
I even have "slightly" OC'd CPU but the game appears
"rock-solid".
Problems do make a return if I turn ANY of those AV's back on.
This also fixed my failures to save games while doing it "normally".
Quicksaves get randomly corrupted but at least it's documented
in gothic2.ini file.
Damn this one made me work hard...
Later add-on: Tested with 3 different desktops, all the same results... _________________ Modded 8RDA3+ - Tbred2100+ @ 12.5x200 (2.2V + H2O) - 2xKHX256MB DDR433 @ Sync - 9700 Pro @ 390/345

I have had 2 crashes while playing this game. Both times I had zonealarm and net connection on. Now I have played over 20 hours with no other programs running and had zero crashes. |
