Skinning/Modding?

I don't know anything bout modding/skinning but all I would really like to possibly do is to modify my own chars appearance (his actual skin/head)

How can I go about this?

I"m not sure, but I think the reason skinning is not very popular in Morrowind is cause once you make a new skin, you most likely have to restart the game form the beginning. I'm not sure whether or not you can edit the appearance of your current character.

That would be pretty cool though.

you could go to Leiawen's MW page if you don't know already. she had done some Skinning/Modding to create new hair style and new character face/head (look more beautiful than original). she also (hope she's "she") create new weapons & such. maybe you could ask her some idea how to skinning/Modding? http://www.dragonsight.com/~leiawen/morrowind.html

pink hair?, no, i didn't mean the site by Arwen Eve (everything in pink color), but by another different person with web site named "Leiawen's morrowind pages..."

Ah finally figured it out. Didn't change my own char but since I hadn't started the game it didn't matter. I was able to add a new head for Khajiit. Well actually I just used a current head and changed its colors...but not finished yet..just did it as a test and it worked =D Tommorrow I will make it how I want it and do the arms/legs/etc... to match! =D

Turns out you dont need 3ds MAX for skinning/modding current textures ..only if you are making new weapons with new meshes or anyhting with new meshes..hehe oh well

Once I finish I will post some pics.
