Geppert & Kervo are dead? |

Hi:
I'm replaying Gothic II again, this time as a Mercenary. I'm in Chapter 2, and crossed the river only to find that the Lurkers had killed Geppert & Kervo in that cave ... I know I normally get a rune from them (as Paladin and Mage) - are they not invincible when I play as a Merc? Does it matter (except for a few XP) that they are dead?

I never foudn a cave close to the mercs were other mercs were hiding in so yeah where is it? _________________ Want to become a vampire? a warrior in the battle between vampires and werewolves?

He means the cave near the former Old Mine where 2 (probaly former) diggers are. You'll get the quest Lurker-Hunt form them. |

In Ch2, in the Valley, after you leave Marcos' camp, your instructions tell you he wanted to cross the river where it was frozen. So you'd normally go across the upper part and cross the frozen part of the river above the waterfall.
But if you instead cross just after the waterfall, to the 'left' of it, you'll see a bunch of lurkers in a small area with an orc tent, and then see a cave to the right. In the cave are two guys, one of whom is very afraid of lurkers and will give you a quest worth some XP (a couple or few hundred, IIRC) to clear them out.
This time, as soon as I got close, I heard a battle from the cave, and found the two dead. My other two plays, I approached the cave adn got the quest - I was wondering if they got attacked only if you were a Merc, since as Paladin and Mage I had no problem.

mmm I think it is is a standard quest, not guild related so you were having just a bad coincedence that that lurker got too close

I think
I didn't know that since they give you a blank Rune, which you really need as a mage, that they would be invincible until the quest is done for a Mage character.
Oh well ... too many Orcs chasing me around to worry
