The Bard's Tale (PS2/XBox): Wrap Report @ RPG Vault |
Executive Producer Brian Fargo and Creative Director Matt Findley of inXile look back on the development of their humorous fantasy RPG 'The Bard's Tale' in RPG Vault's wrap report.
The Bard's Tale became available for the PS2 and Xbox just before the end of October. Inspired by the earlier series, the newer game is also connected to its spiritual forebears through Brian Fargo, who played a primary role in their creation. His current position as CEO of developer and publisher inXile also saw him acting as Executive Producer of the present-day action RPG, which features a titular protagonist who is anything but the stereotypical selfless hero. Instead, he's a sarcastic, self-serving sort who always has his eyes open for a comely wench or the chance to make some quick money. Also notable is the team's use of humor, which often takes the form of lampooning the genre's stereotypes. With the title receiving rather favorable attention, we were eager to hear from both Brian Fargo and Creative Director Matt Findley.

The EU release of The Bard's Tale has been pushed back again , to May or later, or maybe never. On Sony's PS2 site there's no longer any mention of the game. |
