C is for cookie, not carrot!

Read me.

*sigh* What is the world coming to? Leave Cookie Monster alone! He's fine the way he is! I watched Cookie Monster scarf down cookies and it hasn't damaged me. I eat a healthy diet. So quit messing with my friend Cookie Monster.

That article is well-written, and gave me quite a laugh!

First, referring to it as "Cookiegate" was great, then
"Cookie Monster was not available for comment. (I'm hoping he hasn't gone too Hollywood.)" cracked me up.

Tho I can say on an un-funny note, Frist should quit messing around on Sesame Street and get in gear on confirming Estrada and the rest. Leave the clowning and talking to little kids stuff to Hillary.

Notes: Must check PvP more often.
I saw the news but not the strip. Heh.
They should rename Cookie Monster to Sometimes-Food-Eating Monster. I don't remember much from Sesame Street but the way Cookie Monster ate cookies was cool. So he won't be like that anymore? They're killing my childhood memories.

An excellent comic, Val. It's really sad when parents have abdicated their responsibilities to the point where children's shows can't be for children anymore. It's political correctness for the under-age...

Never miss PvP!! I agree, I watched SS with my kids as they grew up and it never affected their or my eating habits. Heck, doing Cookie Monster impersonations is one of my 'Party Pieces'!!

What horror! What's next:
Animal that is getting articulation-lessons??
Miss Piggy that is going on a diet??
Oscar leaving his garbage container and moves to a normal row house??

LOL Sem!
Hilarious post, could prolly go on for days about modern pc twists on conventional Sesame Street themes.

You know, Oscar actually reveals that he has been a grouch all these years because people are always throwing recycleables in his trash container and it pisses him off. Or Bert and Ernie come out as openly gay, and wish to adopt Elmo. Or maybe Grover can develop an eating disorder, that's why he's so skinny. Big Bird can come out against poultry industry types who use hormones in their chicken, and reveal the shocking fact that he himself is the result of "one hormone shot too many"

Actually, this would have shocked me much much more, if recently I had not see the horror of what Warner has decided to do to the Looney Tunes.

There are a number of old Looney Tunes that no longer run on commercial television ... they've been deemed 'offensive' or 'racist'.

Has this happened to Speedy Gonsoles as well?

I don't know, the last I hear was that Looney Tunes cartoons were altogher taken off air for a variety of reasons.

I heard about Speedy too recently, and that is just horrible (in case anybody doesn't know appearantly Speedy cartoons were taken off air as supposed by Warner management as being offensive to Mexican people and Porky Pig one, joined them as well. And this is also horrible, Porky was a star way before most Bugs or Daffy). But the good part was that I heard that some Latin civil rights group/s or something of the kind started a petition for the return of Speedy.

My god, next they'll censor Granny as being offensive to old people, or make her younger.

As somebody else said -> I better start videotaping classing cartoons like the Looney Tunes, so that one day when I have kids I can show them something that has style. And quality.
