Does anyone know what the dwemer coherer is or what it's used for?

If it is the dwemer thing in the tradehouse of Mebestien Ence in Pelegiad, you need it for a thief job from the Balmora thief guild.

For that thief job you have to have the dwemer artifact with you when talking about it with the Pelegiad fort smid.
