Inserting Crash

Hey.

A minor problem I'm having. Whenever I try to insert NPCs ala Marvin Mode, the game crashes. There's an access violation message, but my computer freezes up before it gets a chance to show me an id or anything. Can anybody help?

Sorry if this is some problem that's already been solved and discussed into the ground...haven't been here in a while.

Thanks

Who do you want to insert and what did you type in ?

The crash will only occur when you want to insert somebody who doesn't exist. The game will try to search for something that doesn't exist and is crashing.

For example if you want to insert Lester you can't type in "insert Lester" but "insert pc_psionic"

Ah that explains it. Kinda odd though because for some guys if you just start typing in their names as they appear in-game it finishes it for you.

So I just need to do fbox and find the guy's true name.

Thanks alot!

Various reasons of exploitation without plot breakage.

For instance, I never really liked the way the main character looked, and I always wanted to walk in "strut mode." Probably an easier way to change those things, but I could never figure it out, so I just inserted a Pablo and took possession of him, resetting his stats with the character helper. Now I'm buff, walk cool, got a sweet beard, and finally don't have to stare at that damn knob ponytail all the time. And I can still do that bandit quest.

Purely asthetic, and kinna more trouble than its worth. But that ol' summer boredom is setting in (the reason I reinstalled G2 in the first place).
