Let's assume that this announcement is for this year... that'll make some of us happier...

But they haven't updated the website since when? Last year!!! Well, not really--February to be exact...

They should relaunch the website with all the juicy info about the German Addon and the English release. A countdown like this is good as well.

The last update of the official Gothic II site (both English and German) was made on 04-24-2003. The sites will be updated as soon as PB may release infos about add-on and international versions. Always keep in mind that the webmaster is part of the dev team, thus working on both add-on and GIII as well as keeping the site up to date, plus he's a student and has to go to university in addition to everything.

For what it is worth, info on Infogrames. It is no more,

For what is worth and maybe could be causing a delay. Infogrames is changing its name to Atari. I asume this wil delay release since the box and stuff must reflect thier new name.

-------------------------------------
Game publisher Infogrames on Wednesday said it would change its name to Atari. The move is most likely an effort by the company to increase its profile with consumers by reaching back into gaming history. Reuters' Ben Berkowitz correctly points out that the Atari name is the most storied in video gaming. It dates back to the early 1970s - when Nolan Bushnell and a team of engineers at Atari created Pong. The arcade game was so popular machines sometimes jammed up because they were overflowing with quarters. Infogrames acquired the rights to the Atari brand in early 2001 when it bought Hasbro Interactive. In October 2001 the company relaunched the brand and began using it as a game publishing label.

Does it means that Atari (formerly known as Infogrames) cares nothing about G2---all they really care is the changing of their name?

even simpler... testing the game before putting an Atari-label on the box? ...might be one reason

well personally, i think they might keep the old name on the gothic 2 box u know with infogrames, cause other wise their gunna get an army of Pissed off RPGers after em, i know i'm tired of waiting and i hope they get june going cause it really doesn't take that long to edit image on a box then tell it to print 10 million or more you know, same for the cd image , , but as for ad's and anything else it shoudl be fast cause well their name change was, and i do graphic design everyday , and i really dont find it hard to erase one thing and edit into another and , it shouldn't take infogrames long since they just got the contract, and just became that new name crap, they shouldn't of even had that many printed out with the old name they just change graphic and go, so not really months more to a month and maybe even a half
