Greetings, first of all, I'm sorry if i'm posting in the wrong forum, it was long since I was here.
Anyway, I've recently started playing Ultima IX (I remember wanting this game when I had my 200Mhz computer, that was some years ago!), and I really love it, but I'm stuck. I've restored the first shrine and now I'm supposed to follow Raven to some other place, but I have to have a RUNE. I can't figure it out, what rune? Where do I find it? I've looked through some walkthroughs but I can't find any info. |

You should have a rune after cleansing the shrine. The glyphs are runes that have been twisted and when they get cleansed they turn back into runes.

Darn, I thought about that, but I don't have any rune. Would it have been placed in my inventory automatically or should I have had to pick it up myself? Becouse I checked back at the Shrine but couldn't find anything. >_< |

It would be sitting on the shrine. All I can suggest is either reload to a spot before you cleansed the shrine or start over.

Argh, I've deleted all my previous saves. I thought everything was okay. >__<
Is it even possible to sell the Rune? I think I went to the Adventure store and sold some items when I returned to town, but I dunno, I'm pretty sure I didn't pick up any rune in the first place.
Oh well, thanks for your help. Guess I have to start over completely. |

If I didn't know better I'd think restarting was a part of the plot.

Ah, I got the rune! I looked at another forum and saw that other people had encountered the same thing. It was actually very easy, the rune had just been places high up in the air, not on the altar.  |

Hi there!
Hey, i have experienced the same problem and that's why i'm here! I got the rune of compassion, i have to meet Raven to her boat, but she still at the entrance of Despice...
?????
In every walkthrough they say that when we get out of Despice, we are supposed to see a movie sequence witch i haven't seen.
The problem may be with my no CD patch??
If anyone have a clue or solution for this problem, i would be very happy.

Did you finish all your business in despise?
Talk to her again; what happens?
On the movies
- Be sure your cd is in your computer;
Or (the better option)
- Be sure to install the movies on your hard drive (you might have to re-install the the game again)
There is an ini file in the Ultima IX directoriy that points to the locattion of the movies, if your into ini files, you might want to check it.
Furthermore; you might want to install DivX. This ensures you have the right codec installed. This is prob not nececary, but one never knows.

Yep i did everything i had to do (and more) in despise (i went back in the column twice after having the rune of compassion!!)
Raven is always standing at the entrance of despise and only saying "so...are you ready to prove yourself?" ...i even tryed to kill her (ouch for my karma) but in vain. I'll try your technical tips about the movies (cuz i'm pretty sure that the problem is in this way...)and i will come back to you about this issue.

So i went in the guide you told me and the 1.19f patch helped me a lot.
Just as i came back in Despise, i saw the movie i missed.
But Raven still there for ever even if i go back to her boat and back.
I have unistalled the game and re-install it and the b***h was at despice again...
Anyway, i've started a new game hoping that that bug won't come back again...

It probably wont. I heard of it before, but never experienced any plot-stopping bugs with the latest patch.
