I agree with the fact that the paladins would win against the orc if they try to get in from the ramp because they come one by one and the paladins can stand with them all there waiting for them and then the Orcs don't stand a change. They aren't stupid you know

well palidens arent stupid but the orcs are still more powerful, so they should just get another ram and ram down the gate and kill all that are inside.

Yes they could, but then there are 2 gates while they are approaching the gate they would open fire with their bows and or crossbows. Even if they broke through the first gate you could be shot through the second gate, or they could raise the 2nd gate and let in a few orcs and then lower it. Then they would desimate the orcs. If i were the strategic officer I would order the first gate to be raise. Then I would let in ooo i'd say about 10 orcs if they could fit. Then close the first gate, and then they are helpless trapped between two gates. After they die repeat process

most likely the orcs to invade the castle, but the attempt failed and were slaughtered merciously

no they wanted to invade the castle so they went to attack but the built it totaly wrong and after a couple smashes it fell apart and created a nice walkway to get into the castle.

Why would the orcs build it themselves they took some prisoners from the colony and made them build the thing. But the prisoners knew they would die anyway so they sabotaged it.  |

hmm it could be maybe builded by ppl to shoot the orcs if they started to invade  but after dragons appeared the device was for orcs |

Or maybe it was one of the support beams for the watchout tower, and when the orcs attacked it collapsed, and then fell and broke through the interior wall, but its real purpous is to confuse us all and have us all start talking about its use.
