I am not sure but have you tried your speed spell? I used that spell to make a long jump in level 2.

Jump

This one is more a matter of positioning and strength. Jump is space bar. Hit that and Up arrow at same time. Look down at where your feet are. If you are too close to edge you don't get the height you need. Some people have put swords and stuff on the edge for extra distance and made it work.. Just play with it, you should be able to get it. Check the angle you are standing at and be sure you are looking up when you actually do the jump. Hope this helps.

OK ... I'm a mage, which is apparently a bad career choice when doing lava jumping ...

It took me 25 times to make it to the last platform ... and I'm already on my 6th try getting from there ... make that 10th ... now 15th ...

I'm about done with this crap ... what a rediculous section - load, die in 3 seconds, load for 15 seconds, die in 3 seconds ...

Where do I need to be to get across this last one?

Mike

I feel for you on this one and I agree. They could have made it easier or just forgot it all together. My only suggestion is to use something large in your inventory, put it on the very edge of the platform, back up and then hit forward and then quickly jump right at the edge. I must have tried at least 20 or 30 times. It became a quest for me just to do it. One time I reloaded to before that part, went to get more xp and added to my dex. first. Also see if you have anything that would up your dex or strength in your inventory, it so now is time to wear it. If you have some unneeded heavy items, drop them on the edge as well for more distance and height. I hope you get it, as this is the only place you will run into this bad of a jump situation, and the rest of the game is fun again.

It isn't even like it's a 'jump puzzle'.

I'm a mega-vet FPS player, twitch gamer, and have done plenty of precision jumps.

This is just bad design.

And it's too bad, I've had a lot of fun with the game, managing to make my way through tons of it.

But an hour trying to get across 4 grids between two halls while facing no enemies is just nuts.

I started Sacred instead ... maybe I'll try again ...

OK ... I give up. There seems to be no way for me to make that jump.

Is there some 'noclip' cheat or something to get me across that last area? I would really like to get back to what *was* a very enjoyable game.

Thanks,

Mike

I don't know of any. You can try jroby@arkane-studios.com and ask him if he has any way to help. This is one part of the game I could have done without.

Well, I was advised to use that tube sticking out from the center of the last platform, making sure I was absolutely as far out as possible and still able to jump, and look at the closest point.

That didn't work.

But when I looked up somewhat I was then able to make the leap. I have not tried to repeat it - and will not, as I just saved and quicksaved. Whew ... good to be through that ...

Thanks for all the help and advice,

Mike

Glad you made it. This is such a great game otherwise, and I'm glad you took the time to post how you did it. Hopefully that will help someone else. I didn't realize looking up more would make a difference, but that does make sense, look up higher, jump higher I guess, or maybe the aim is better. Have fun after such a long delay.

Thanks again for the help CM. Yes it is worth it, I got back into it quickly and played a bit more. The only downside I see is that this will definitely go against replay value for me ... but then time heals all wounds, and I'm a pretty patient old dude ...
