Gameplay in hours for Wizardry 8?

How many hours on average does it take on the first try to complete Wizardry 8? I plan to play this game multiple times. The tactics are killer and definitely smoke 1-7!

Easily 100+ hours the first time, I used 140 hours the first time, but I also like to explore thoroughly

There are many things you can do to cut down the time. First, adjust the speed of animation and everything else to fastest. That will speed up the combat. Combat takes the longest time. Make sure at least two your member can cast portal and one of them cast portal at T'rang transporter. That will save you a lot of time walking. Arnika road is excellent place to build up melee skill. It stay there and fight until I get my melee skill to at least 50. The swamp is excellent to build up ranged attack and spell realm skills. I stay there to build up skills in those areas. After that, I would just cast tincture's shadow to avoid battles except those you can't avoid. That will save you lots of time. Toward the end of the game, fighting critters like miliped serves no purpose but to waste your own time. If you really like to suffer, try to cast slow spell on those millipedes. Don't forget tincture's shadow and "light" spell don't mix. A bulb of light at night attracts critters.

Asumed you don't (want to) get spoiled, by knowing about locations of teleporters, and in game preferences and techniques, you should be very very lucky to find the swift path the first time around, surely the game can be played in approx 50-60 hours if you know the game, and take the main plot road, but remember, the most fun is to explore the world yourself the first time without having a clue where to go except from the few hints in the game itself.
Any first time should not be under 100 hours, unless you let yourself be spoiled, and that would really be a shame.

But you defently want to get the unofficial "speed patch" for faster monster movement in combat.

Thanks! Any game that takes 100+ hours is my kinda game. This game is already becoming my new crack-addiction. Which I needed...I played Morrowind nonstop for over a year.

I like the old-school Wizardrys also. I have been emailing dreamcatcher & sir-tech about putting this game on the Xbox since they are both Canadian companies. Sir-tech has other people publish their stuff anyway. Dreamcatcher just did Arx Fatalis on the box. If the Xbox can handle Morrowind and both expansions it can easily handle Wizardry 8. The hardest part would be finding a user interface for a game pad. It could be done though. And this game would sell better for them on the Xbox than on the PC. They say most speciality game shops like EB Games and Gamestop make 95% of their sales off console games. Sadly, I think it is gonna get harder to find good PC games like this.
