I've found I never NEEDED more than 100 on str. Last time played Paladin, learned elixer of spirit. With the amulet of power from Ulthar I still managed to have 172 str, 115 dex and 207 mana. Mana nice especially throwing destroy evil. Ended game at level 41 that time with 760 hp to boot.

Swoot! You get the amulet after doing the shrine quest? I never finished that quest though.. I was too lazy to search the shrines

Actually that one isn't too hard, most along the path back to that cave by black troll. the rest are the ones near the farms. Get 10 str and 10 dex with it. Too bad you can't wear 2 amulets as I had a the 15 str amulet also.

Yeah, don't you wish you could be like the dude BA in A-Team movie, you could then wear a ton of amulets and rings at once and get all the bonuses from them...  |

I think if you just wear the +15 str amulet for the first time you get a bonus of 15 strength, and if you remove it you still got that bonus. It's not an amulet like the amulet of life (+15 Hitpoints IF you wear it).
You better wait to wear the amulet till you have 100 strength..
Well I'm not sure if it was a bug or not..
