Great joy when you find a cave with crawlers to kill and a nice ring to boot
And the low level quest are very good too

i wonder none of you have talked about more quests in the game.
when i started playing gothic 2 (havent played gothic 1) initially i had no idea how to increase my level. there were simply not enough quests . then i read somewhere that u just go out and kill animals and stuff to gain xp. which was unlike any other rpg i have ever played (and i have played lots)
but that doesnt mean i didnt like gothic 2 -
also i hope they advertise gothic 3 better -

i didnt like the silly respawn system ( empty woods until you proceed into the next chapter)
and i didnt like necessary to choose a special role to play .....
it was somewhat linear....
and the copy protection system made my head ache...it took minutes to recognize the cd .....

but i liked the "fresh" look of the landscape and the possibility to jump/climb to several edges on the cliffs and find some stuff there...
great exploring !!

the "collecting and combining" system needs an update:-)

- Respawn systems are important for mmorpg´s, not for single player rpg´s with great story and lots of quests farm farm farm till you level up

Choosing a role to play in a role playing game is not what you like?

The story was indeed somewhat linear, it would be great to get different storylines with the different guilds (Even Nox did this better )

And if it takes minutes to recognize the cd you might need a new cd-drive

And I didn´t like the collect & combine system much either, it's a bit too tiresome.

swear to god, i wrote them about it from G1, and in G2 it was just as gimpy (demo) so i didnt buy the thing.

"OMG I WROTE THEM WTF WHY DIDNT THEY CAHNGE IT OMGGG WTFF"

the control scheme is efficient, and part of the gothic quirks! get use to it

I Hope this game is as freeform and more detailed as Morrowind but smaller,
because if you get a massive RPG like Morrowind you often get lost and confused in the middle of a journey!

Thats not the friggin point! Releasing a game, ESPIECIALY a pc game, without letting us change our controls is simply one of the most HORRID design flaws I can think of. GAH!

Huh? The controls in Gothic 1 and 2 are changeable. Where's the problem?

One thing I don't like about Gothic 3 is that PB has said that guilds will play a smaller role.

After setting the action key I like to use, I find the gothic controls very good.

I have to agree with you there, Toaster. I fear it will reduce the replayability, if the guilds are not so different and important it will be less fun to play again with another guild

JoWoods copy protection does suck incredibly. Many people including myself have had no end of trouble with it.

There is no official release date for Gothic 3 anywhere yet...and you should not expect any date to be accurate this far out. JoWood's recent financial results along with a couple of other sources suggest they are targeting late this year. This does not take into account international distribution and the fact that most developments run late at least once.

We expect much more info to come out during E3 (May) - but again, until it gets much closer, don't rely on any dates.
