First of all I wanna say I love Gothic!!! It is probably one of the best games i own. When I heard Gothic 2 was coming I was in awe. But then a terrible thought ocurred to me.... What if my computer sucks too much? Right now I'm running a pentium 3 with 1Ghz, a GeForce 2, and 256 megs of ram.
If someone could tell me what the requirements are that'd most kool.
Hope I don't need a new comp.
Thanks for help...

Actual specs have not been released yet.
Gothic 2 is using a revamped version of the first engine, so your system will probably handle it. It's been mentioned that hardware requirements for getting the nicest effects would be a PIII and a GeForce 3 with 32 MB RAM. So an upgrade to your video card and maybe some more RAM will make your playing experience much nicer. _________________ Freeeeeeedom! Thank heavens it's summer!
What do I have to show for my hard work? A piece of paper! Wee!

Thanks!!!!!! Alls I need to know now is if they make GeForce 3 pci cards, lol. HPs don't exactly come with good motherboards.
As long as it looks slightly better than the first Gothic I'm a satisfied costumer.

My old computer was a low end freak-machine.
I just got a new one:
P IV 2.2 GHZ
512MB RAM
64MB Nvidia Geforce 4
Guess who'll be playin' Gothic II w/o skipping! _________________ "Don't you call me a mindless philosipher, you old weight lob of grease."

Look what I found!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
|
I'm many people have seen this but I took the time to read all the interviews and found this little snid bit.
"KaiRo: Gothic II is based on the technology used for the first part, but we added some new features and effects. Early indications regarding the system requirements point to a 800MHz machine with 256 MB RAM and a 32MB graphic card, but please don’t nail be down to that…"
If thats correct I'm good to go!!!!!!!!!

I saw a 64MB Geforce 4 for $100 at CompUSA...
It was an older version though... _________________ "Don't you call me a mindless philosipher, you old weight lob of grease."

I'm sure that's more or less correct... but as he asked... I'm not going to nail him down to it.
I'm alos open to any specs... really. My old faithful is srving, but it's really time for an upgrade. _________________ Erb Duchenne |

I have a feeling that we'll be seeing Gothic II SReqs something like Morrowind's.
i.e.: 800mhz
256MB RAM, etc. _________________ "Don't you call me a mindless philosipher, you old weight lob of grease."

The system requirements don´t really matter. Nowadays you can get a new XP1800+ with 512MB DDR and a GeForce 4 for less than 1000$. Partial upgrades are even cheaper.
In the times of entry level systems with so much power you shouldn´t expect new games to run on an old P3-450. _________________ Webmaster GothicDot |

I suppose Gorath is right, but I'd have expected the prices to run a little steeper then 1000 or less... _________________ "Don't you call me a mindless philosipher, you old weight lob of grease."

And you call yourself poor? How about this:
I'm rich! But I can't afford to upgrade. _________________ Erb Duchenne |
