Arx more frustrating then fun 8(

Games puzzles just frustrate afetr a while, cant find enough torchs in the game and currently my bitch is that im in the crypt and have to find a peice of wood to fix the lever on the floor that openes up north eastern rooms, i treis using a steke, wooden im i right... dididnt work, went looking all over the crypt for a peice of wood lying around but with limted vision, back to the not enough torches thing, i could not find any wood lying around, went to vendors in town, no has a piece of wood, tried arrows, even a wooden chair, getting desperate, still the switch would not react and repair.....

Were the fuck do i get a peice of wood around the crypt area or town... this game for the last 10 hours of play has been slow go frustrating and boring...but i want to finish it and get it the hell off of my HD

thanks

You might want to turn up gama or luminosity to brighten up game. I rarely use torches.

Have you busted open headstones with pickax?

i'd agree arx drove me mad at first with the light and the fact that i have to have my sound very low as i have small kids:(
But i read it was as good as the uw/uw2 which i love and gave it another go and am very close to finishing it:)

You have to adjust the gamma to enjoy it properly. Either that or increase the luminescence.

As for sounds I'm pretty much in the same situation here and I decided to use headphones even though I have a nice 5.1 sound system to enjoy. Headphones beats very low sound IMHO.

I upped the Gamma and Luminosity. I still need to use torches or Magic Vision in some places, but overall it's not too bad.

As for a piece of wood, if you don't find one in Maria's shop, you can take the passage from the city of Arx to The Outpost and get one (if you didn't pick it up when you were there before).

Right in front of where you come out of the passage, you'll see a couple of fires burning. Go to the farthest one, by the vegetables and look around in the ashes. There should be a piece of wood there that you could use.

Good Luck!

The new patch 1.16 out today makes one of the stores replenish its stock every time you load. I just checked and its Miguels which means no torches which I was hoping for Why the armourer when theres plenty of weaponry around?

Strange, I rarely needed to use torches and I found heaps of them. Found lots of wood too. Only needed two pieces in the game from memory, but used a LOT of spikes in the crypt. It's essential to open the graves.

Fx your gamma level in the game and/or the contrast/brightness settings on your monitor. For the most part you shouldn't need torches (the game wasn't designed for you to always need torches).

Also keep in mind there's that infravision (or whatever) spell which can come in quite handy when out of torches.

Heck, even pressing ctrl illuminates the surroundings, and there are also some candles...
