English Modding Documentation/Editing-Wiki - please view! |
|
Hi!
I am am member of the German Gothic-Community. An English Gothic Player has asked us in the forum to translate the Gothic Modding-Documentation which was made by German modders (the one on World of Gothic).
So here I am making suggestions. Maybe the modding-section on gothic.rpgdot.com should be enlargened so that the documentation can be published there. But first of all we need a list of all those things you want us to translate for you. Irwin has already told us you needed the documentations on the Spacer, DAEDALUS and ZenGIN. We need sort of a confirmation from the community, so that the work won't be done in vain. So, tell me what you need and I'm going to find people to translate it for you.
So long

Welcome to our forum!
Publishing the articles is no problem, as long as WoG allows it. Of course we need their permission.
I´m not sure how many people would really be interested in modding. I suspect the number will be small. _________________ Webmaster GothicDot |

Huh, im not only English Gothic Modder Thruthfully, im also deal with Russian Modders, and even with some Estonian. But whats the ticket to translate the german documentation to the English? First of all, im 100% sure that not only ppl who speaks English as mother language can understand English. Actually, the German documentation was available only for those who learned this language, and if it will be in English, the international language, which known by every1, the Gothic-Modding community will be grown. Why Gorath thinks that the number of ppl who wants to modificate gothic will be small? Cuz theres no understandable documentation, for those who knows only English, and the man who want to make a mod for gothic must spend a lot of time with trying, until he understands the nounces. I think you can understand my way of thinking
So, i think that the translation of the German gothic-modding documentation to English is very important (and it will help the future modders of Gothic 3!), and it will realy help to the all non-German gothic modders. |

Cool! I thought that you would like the idea. So, atually, look at wiki.worldofgothic.com - some articles have already been translated and more of them will be. Many members of our community are helping, so that you can hope that there will be a full translation of the wiki in some time. I hope you will like it.
Zerwas
P.S. Maybe gothic.rpgdot.com should add a link on wiki.worldofgothic.com in their modding section until the wiki is more or less completed. As for the publication of the wiki on gothic.rpgdot.com we need the permission of those who have distributed the articles to the wiki - it's legal stuff but I think it won't be a problem. |

Greetings, all.
Zerwas: please e-mail me, I have sent a private message to your username at RPGDot. (I have translated file documents\mod\gothic_mod.htm from Gothic 1 documentation, but I couldn't register myself on WorldOfGothic site, so I cannot post it myself.) (Edit: I managed to post it.)
Gorath: I see Alistair already translated Model Tutorial, Script Tutorial and Level Tutorial. (I guess he's Alistair Thomas, author of G1 mods Visigothic and The Trial?) Are you permitted to post these tutorials to a Wiki on WoG website? It would make sense, IF permitted (there's a strongly-worded copyright text at the bottom of RPGDot pages...)

Sorry for the delay. I want to edit the old camp. But can't i delete the waypoints faster? The only way i see it's possible is one by one and that seems like a long job. _________________ From the deepest corner of hell a demon will save the day |
