isn't all hits critical with a bow/x-bow ? |
|
Schmaugus... I think you are wrong. Isn't DEX *always* added to the damage a bow/crossbow does, since it is uncapable of making "critical hits"... i.e. all hits are critical hits, making the term irrelevant. |

I'm not sure i the percentages is critical chance, or if it has to do with accuracy. _________________

Shmaugus you say that Dragon Xbow do more damage and no bow will come near that..
Could you give the stats of that Dragon xbow + maybe the Dragon Bow too
Thanks |

I did some testing by cheating with the crossbow and bow with high DEX. They are just like melee weapons when they hit. You do normal damage, but upon a critical hit you get the added DEX bonus damage added in.
The higher trained in bow or crossbow; they more chance for a critical hit AND the more ACURRATE ( arrows miss target) and faster you are when shooting from a distance.
Bows do fire faster than crossbows and can fire and hit targets more accurate and further away than a crossbow.
Bows do some stun effect to enemy to slow thier attack rush on you.
I think crossbows having a better damage to dex ratio so character builds with low dex can use a range weapon; but they are not that great.
In the end, it is in my style of play the bows are more rewarding (after all look at the huge dex poured into them). They get better damage on critical hits with high dex, able to use high damage bows over crossbows earlier in game for fun, they shoot farther with more accuraccy at distance, they stun the enemy rushing you. Bad side they eat up arrows fast.
Th fact that crossbow has the highest damage is rather immaterial in practical use. So it takes only one extra hit to kill the big baddest monster? I can do that from a further distance and pump 1.5 times the arrows into the monster than a crossbow before closure to melee.
Of course, a crossbow is great for that one sneaky sniper hit and run from a safe hidden spot. depends on you play style.
@Stats for largest ranged weapons:
Dragon Hunter Crossbow 100 damage /85 dex to use.
Dragon Bow 75 damage /95 dex to use.
If you just meet the min requirements to use, a critical hit by either one in one shot is Xbow 100 +85 =185 Bow 75+95 =165
normal damage 100 to 75 = 1.25 ratio.
But the faster shoot speed of the bow makes the difference moot. If you are trained well in either one with high DEX, thre really is no difference in the Uber ranged weapons. High training is very high chance for critical hits so that 185 to 165 with the bow shooting faster; the bow wins IMHO. _________________ Wo ist mein Sumpfkraut? |

For Bow/XBow, it keeps shooting.
For some sort of magic spell (Holy Arrow, Fire ***) it seems to cast once or twist, then your character starts running in that direction. LOL. At least thats what happens for me. |

I had no idea you could climb trees in this game. What do you do, just walk up to one and press action? |
