Baldur's Gate 2, almost better, but you become to powerful.. (is that "really" a bad thing?)

I don't have 10 top RPG games only 3.
1. Divine Divinity
2. Diablo 1 and 2
3. Dungeon Seige (only after extensive modding!)

In fact, if only Divine Divinity was set in a 3D world and had a Third person over-the-shoulder perspective. It would probably be my all time favourite game of all time.

Yes, with a play of Gothic I believe your list would change rather quickly.

Oh guys (and gals). Yes, I have tried the Demo of Gothic.
Gothic is a game that almost makes me weep in frustration. It is one of the most beautiful games I've ever seen, and I have tried and tried to play it. But I really, really HATE the controls. No matter how hard I try I just can't get used to them. If there was some way to make it mouse controlled like Diablo and Divine Divinity I'm sure that I'd love it. Even if I can't play a female character

Cheers

Then you should try the English Gothic II demo when itīs available. G2 has a secondary combat interface which lets you do simple attacks with one mouse click (and focussing on the target). The more complex stuff is optional and mapped to some letters on your keyboard.
Not the most elegant interface ever made but it works surprisingly well.
