Transfer of saved games?

My new 2.2GHz Ferrari arrives in 3 to 5 days and I'm currently getting by with a 550mhz station wagon. Has anyone successfully transferred their saved game(s) from one PC to another? I intend to play Morrowind multiple times with different characters but I really don't want to start over just yet...

Its easy

I needed to format my system after about 3 days of playing, so I was a little scared about loosing everything and having to start over. I just copied the "saves" folder out of the morrowind directory onto a CD. Once I reinstalled my OS and Morrowind, I copied the "saves" directory back in the morrowind folder and it loaded up just fine. No problems. Should work for you too.

Yes. Backup the Saves directory that has your saves.
But make sure you also backup the Journal.htm file in the main directory.
I reformatted my harddrive and ALMOST missed that file.

This was with one character.
I wonder if there is another Journal.htm file of some sort if you have two
characters? Just thought about that.

I was wrong about the Journal.htm file.
It is not needed for backup.
I moved my Journal.htm file out of the main directory
and loaded a game and it was recreated according to my save file(s).
Cool.
