Created a new savefile with a nord boxer... Custom class, no armour or weapon skill at all. Block, hand to hand and the rest in general skills such as speechcraft and athletics.
Skipped the initial quest and went straight to the arena, still level 1 and have arena rank of bloodletter lol
Just did it as a bit of fun when i get bored of my main savefile, but this dude at level 1 is more effective than my other character was at level 3. The byproducts of using hand to hand are extremely powerfull.
Anyone else done something silly with their character creation?

I don't know if I would regard going H2H as silly, by the time you get up to expert level you can dish out some pretty serious damage, the main problem is you can't hurt most supernatural enemies so you are pretty much screwed as they make up quite a significant part of the game.....
EDIT: I haven't tested but perhaps magical (like the ones you get outside the arena) or daedric gloves allow you to damage them? Could be worth a shot. |

this is something i was wondering about. In many other RPGs you have this option (such as in neverwinter nights)
another option would be the ability to apply stones and poisons to gloves
