I've talked to Malcolm, and looked all around the merchant Guild for evidence, but I haven't found any. As I didn't solve this quest in my last game, either, a spoiler would be appreciated. |

The evidence is in Malcom's house, not the guild *grin*.
His house is to the west and a little south of the Merchants Guild - though it should be marked on your map.

Well that's good news. I looked at about 50 of those recipes for apple crumble and the only thing I found in the GUild that was of any use was a book of Thievery (hope I can find the other two). |
