Firefox = No Fable Add.

Time to leave IE in the trash people!

well i don't know about the rest of you folks, but as long as the fablethings keeps popping every second i click something on thése forums, its less rpgdot for me.Shame. these are great forums but something like this fableadd just annoys users. Sure you need to get money, i understand it very well.There is no such thing as free lunch.Still do these adds need to be so damn agressive? DO they need to pop up so often?

No, it seems you don´t understand. RPGDot is part of Jolt.co.uk. Jolt alone has control about the ads. All we can do about it is making Jolt aware of the problem. It´s up to them whether or not they solve it.

All I can suggest is switching to a good browser. Both Opera and Firefox can suppress ads, and both a by no means worse than IE. More the opposite.

Well, IE+SP2 work just as well - no pop-ups, no flash ads (though I have to admit I'm using Thunderbird for mails ).

I was using IE+SP2, until people started figuring out how to bypass it. Now I'm getting ads just as often when using it.

I know I don't post that much but I like to come here and check on news and get advice which I am thankful for, CFMdobbie helped me out a lot. Lately I haven't been visiting as much because of the slowness of the site (I have cable modem and time of day makes no difference), the pop-ups and the annoying Fable ad. I understand that they have to somehow finance the site but do they think that having the Fable ad pop-up every other click is going to somehow make me think hmm "I want to buy this game"? No. Anyway, this is a great site, and I hope there will be some kind of solution or improvement soon.

@Allanon

Its not a RPGDot problem. Its Jolt's problem. Jolt is giving this ads and their "time of annoying" .. its not RPGDot's Staff or site alone's decision when the ads will show so we can only wait when Jolt will stop the problem. (But as you see there are tehniques to ... go around the ad )

When I said "they" I meant Jolt, I did read the earlier posts. My pop-up blocker works but I can't do anything about the Fable ad.

Thats cool, I hope I didn't come off as unappreciative of this site. I try to read as much as I can before posting because it kills me when someone asks something like "when is the release date for this game" or "when is the beta test" when everything is usually there in a faq section. That's going now at the MEO site. I'm almost afraid to post there because of the abuse. Sorry to get a bit off subject and thanks for the help.
