Well you dont hear the hero's name in the speech in G1 and G2 either. All I heard was "Mr. Paladin" from a vendor in harbor district...

There are many games that gives a name to the hero and other NPCs in the game says the name of the hero in their speech... So I see no problem about naming the hero. Of course I doubt they will name him...

Another thing. What happened to Diego's voice in G2??? I guess JoWood or PB couldnt persuade the old guy from G1 who made Diego's speeches. That and try to guess how many unique voice actors make the speeches of all NPCs...

On another note... Does Cor Angar look like Morgan Freeman at 30-40 years old or not???

And lose that ponytail, or at least make it more appealing...

no he needs to stay nameless that is just one of the fine mysterys throughout the gothic seires: What would his name be, who would he be. And I think that those answers shoudln't be answered, or atleast not completely
and don't even think of changing his look. although after a long boatrip his beard should have growned a bit and maybe his hair too

Diego's G1 voice moved to another country.

What a pity the whole speech team didn't move with him.

So perhaps they would have done the speech recordings where Diego's voice has moved

Oh my God! Guess what... I downloaded a wallpaper of Gothic 3 showing Xardas holding a magic spell ( probably lightning since its blue ). However I noticed that there has been a significant ( and unpleasant ) change in the armor ( robe ) of Xardas. I mean come on! He has been wearing my favourite armor in both G1 and G2. What was wrong with that armor? The difference of the armor texture between G1 and G2 is minimal, but as far as I can see from the wallpaper, the upper part was changed significantly. What a shame...

By the way as I meantioned before about the inconsistencies of the storyline in G2, I want to add strange stuff from the note Saturas left in G2. He says that after the barrier collapsed, they went to the center of the destruction ( I am guessing they went to the "Undead Orc Temple of The Sleeper" ). Then he says that only Adanos knows what will happen! Hello... Why not tell the player? Is it such a big secret? What happened to all the water mages??? Sorry ( or should I say entschuldigung? ) I dont know German ( Ok I know very little German ) to play the expansion, but I want to be enlightened about the whole storyline. Dont keep non-Germans in the dark. ( And no, I dont want to play it with the subtitle mod )

Again more to come...

Do you really believe that PB can keep selling games when they keep everything the same? Of course they've changed it, they are making a new game. You think this armor is good, others say the mercenary armor is good, so let's give the orc hunters the mercenary armor. If PB would be working like that, they would be digging their own grave.

Oh, and take a better look at the wallpaper, Xardas isn't holding some blue sphere, he is holding the world of Myrtana in his hand.

Then stop whining. They don't tell the player in G2, because PB didn't know the answer yet at that time. In the addon they explain a lot more about that. Furthermore even in todays history there are inconsistencies, so why make such a big fuss when there are inconsistencies in a game?!

Are you trying to get on my nerves? Dont force me to reply with flames. Plus if PB didnt know the answer, then who is supposed to know? If they are going to decide that Gothic series will be German only, have they thought about the loss of non-German speaker fans? Because of the logic behind not releasing the addon in English.

Please ask google about whatīs a publisherīs job and whatīs a developerīs job before you post such uninformed crap. Thanks.

And yes, Semīs post was pretty aggressive.

Crap to your mind...

Dont think you have the right to call my post crap just because your nickname is colored or your nationality is German. This is not the place to get defensive about nationalities or anything. Plus I didnt offend Germany or Germans anyway. I dont know what made you think that I didnt know publisher's and developer's jobs. I know their jobs and I also know that they have partially failed their jobs as I mentioned in my post that you called uninformed crap. Whats this? Not once have I offended anyone in this thread but I still got harassed for the second time... Maybe you didnt like my comments that showed some plotholes in the storyline. I better stay silent and forget all this as it is not helping anyone at all...

I guess this was the part of your post they were referring to. PB are the developers of the Gothic series and have absolutely no influence on publishing. It's not up to them to decide if one of their games is to be published abroad or not. If they are ordered to make a localized version (as was the case with DNdR), they will, but once again, it's not up to them to decide when, if ever, it will be published.

Keep calm, everybody. Anger, fear and hate pave the path to the Dark Side.
