Now this is more like it!

Planescape is great. It's easy to be evil. Joining the Xaosists is always fun... messing with Vhailor and Dakkon's heads, sacrificing Falls-From-Grace or Morte in hell... you can be really mean. (But evil as I am, I couldn't bear to have either of those characters sacrificed. I couldn't stand letting any of them get killed because I liked them too much. In the end, they were my redemption... grr... I hate being converted to goodness. )

My favorite dialogue in the game comes from playing evil.

"Um... no offense but you look a little... um." Peasant at a cafe.
"Dead?" Nameless
"Well... um... yes."
"Do you know why?"
"Er... no...."
"It's because I am!"
"Uh..."
"Dead dead, la la la! Dead dead la la la!"
"Guards!!!"

...I never managed to becom evil in Torment, so I didn't see a dialogue like this!

And EX... I visited your site. What's so terrible about it?

Hehe, I think someone had a little too much fun playing that game.

EDIT: Read the fine print Jaz.

Evidently, you never visited my digger quest links... I slaughtered every digger and novice in the game over the course of the two installments. Being the against mass murder president that you are... well... I'm kind of your... arch-nemisis.

Planescape: Torment was developed by Black Isle Studios for Interplay. They used Bioware´s Infinty engine.
Executive producer was Guido Henkel, who did the DSA series, which was distributed under the name 'Realms of Arkania' by Sir-tech.

PS:T was in production for quite some time when Baldur´s Gate was released, so it´s by no means a follow up.

Oh, and before I forget it:
I didn´t like it.

Have you tried OUTCAST ?
This masterpiece is not really a CRPG, more action-adventure and with dated voxel graphics. But you can move freely in a huge 3D world. This very immersive game had outstanding AI and NPC interaction at the date of its release (1999). The plot is non-linear and each dialog is spoken.

It is cheap now, you should get it for 5 Dollar or Euro at ebay.
A sequel is also in development.

Hmmm... I think I read the fine print, if you mean the text under the pictures. Okay, he describes a little mass murder, but it's what we expect of him. After all, he's an Arch Villain!

=EDIT= You beat me to it, EX. But I forgive you.

It isn't really the people who made BG though,it is Black Isle that made Fallout and Icewind Dale.(they did help out with it,but Bioware are the ones who made it including the Infinity Engine that is used for it,IWD and in a mod'ed version also for PS:T)

On the box, which I still have it says: "The Next Epic RPG from Black Isle Studios, the Producers of Baldur's Gate and Fallout 2"

I was going to be a 'resident arch-villain' but I wanted to leave room for any others who might prefer to play the evil path in a CRPG first like I do.

I know that BIS did help out with manpower for the game and that they produced it,but they weren't the developers...sorry.

Here are a couple of quotes from Biowares homepage:
"BioWare also licenses its game engine technology which has powered two critically acclaimed role-playing games and an expansion pack: Planescape: Torment, Icewind Dale, and Icewind Dale: Heart of Winter - all developed by our publisher for the Baldur’s Gate franchise, Black Isle Studios/Interplay"
"Baldur’s Gate, released in 1998, proved to be extremely popular - selling over 1.5 million units for PC version and winning many game industry awards"

Note "our publisher for the BG franchise"

Are there any that are 3D 3rd person, like Gothic is? I'm not crazy about that over the top view where they cut the roof off all of the rooms. I also abandoned Wizardry 8, I wasn't crazy about the idea that I couldn't see the members of my party. Plus, I hated the turn based combat thingy!

Summoner is bit like Gothic in that regard, though combat is turn-based. It has more of the Final Fantasy feeling, but it's a very nice RPG.

Hey, I liked Wizardry 8, of course I like a lot of RPGs.

Someone hit that submit button too many times.
