MITHRIL TWILIGHT INTRODUCTION

Mithril Twilight started off in October 2003 by Endsong as an idea for a Holy Order made up of chiefly of Paladins and Priests to battle the Undead plague. The guild's RP background revolved around a near mythical figure known as Lady Twilight who is revered practically as a saint that martyred herself to save her comrades. The guild's full name was The Order of Mithril Twilight, or in-game Mithril Twilight Order named after combining Lady Twilight and her sword's name, Seraph-Mithril. After two years of recruitment and developing the structure, fleshing out the background, and filling out positions the guild had a very successful start when World of Warcraft started. Joining many other RP-PvP oriented guilds from WoW-Roleplayers Association on the Bleeding Hollow server, the guild slowly grew and created many wonderful memories and to this day still operates on the server. However, a more ambitious plan is now in the works when Blizzard finally announced the much awaited RP-PvP server. The plan entails the continuation of the saga of Lady Twilight, however with a more ecompassing emphasis on an interactive and dynamic storyline that both sides of the conflict can determine its path. Many players forming the two opposing side are current members of Mithril Twilight Order whom are planning to move when the guild will be split into two opposing guilds, one for the Alliance, one for the Horde: Mithril Twilight Crusade and Mithril Twilight Legion.

VISION

What is envisioned for this ambitious but potentially awesome project is a long saga of war, tragedy, triumphs, reunions, shattered friendship, betrayal, and new allies all built into an over arching plotline in which both guilds will be actively partaking in as well as producing and contributing to. Both sides will share the same forums with some private/segregated forum for the purpose of guild fuctions, however the RP Forums, General Forums, Off Topic Forums, Art Forums, and etc are meant for members to socialize and become friends OOC; getting to know the person behind your hated nemesis. Also it's envisioned that both guilds will cooperatively come up with plots and missions inside the main arching story to keep things actively interesting and fun for members. Discussions and plans for epic battles and punishing campaigns, silent assassinations and secretive espionage, and political maneuvering are encouraged particularly between the two sides on the forums.

Mithril Twilight Crusade is envisioned to be dominated and ruled by mainly Paladins and Priests with most of their stories involving these classes as well as the chapters. The Inquisitors Chapter will have a large number of fanatical members, determined to bring their divine judgement upon the guilty. They will have individual missions for members or great Inquisitions calling forth all members of the chapter to fulfill their destined duties, particularly against their hated counterpart in the Legion, the Exterminatus. The Wolves of Mercy are religious rogues, trained in the silent art of merciful assassinations and espionage in the cause of the Holy Light. They see themselves as part of the Light, as Light itself is invisible til it strikes something. They conduct a quiet war away from curious eyes with their prime enemy, the Arcani of the Legion. The Blessed Chapter is the main standing army of the Crusade, they are made up of varying classes that are the bulk of the military machine of redemption.

The Legion on the other hand are the made up of fallen and corrupted brethren who once were holy men and women of the order, they are now undead. The 'forsaken' race makes up the overall dominant majority of the Legion and it's storyline. The Exterminatus are the extremist wing of the Legion, those whom hate the living and find undeath as a gift to be treasured. They tend to face off with the Inquisitors often in their missions as they are seen as Sinners and Heretics spreading their 'filth'. The Arcani are the cold blooded killers who silently stalk and erase the Legions enemies as well as gather information on them. They engage in a unseen war with the Wolves, a game of cat and mouse, quite often switching roles. The Sinners Chapter, is the primary army of the Legion, tasked with being on call for ravaging their enemies to their utmost delight.

The chapters of both guilds are not limited to warring with their counterpart but however it will be more often than not that they go after each others throat. Cross-Chapter activities are encouraged with appropriate In Character reasons and given story/missions. Chapter Only activities are also encourage to further emphasize a particular chapters uniqueness and flesh out its RP depth. This is the Vision of this project, it may change and adapt as it goes into implentation. After all, no plan stays intact once it makes contact with the enemy.

Both guilds actively seek members to RP in their guild. The type of person we want are those that are mature, committed to RP'ing and the guild, actively participates in game and contributes to discussions on the forums, oriented towards socializing and working with the community, understands and work with their leaders to build a better than before guild, contributes talents or skills or ideas to the betterment of the guild, and has a self-less philosphy of 'the group before the individual'.

Goals of Mithril Twilight:

1. Build a fun and active RP'ing guild for mature and friendly players to join intent on the guilds' RP'ing designs.
2. Encourage creation of friendship and cooperation for the enjoyment of all.
3. Create a player community through in-game and off-game mediums (forums, chat, etc) for open discussions and considerations of creative new ideas.
4. Build an absorbing atmosphere of fiction for members to be part of and add to.

MITHRIL TWILIGHT SAGA

A girl. Not just a girl, but a typical farm girl in the rural villages of the once prosperous lands of Lordaeron. That was where this all started: a tale of faith and retribution and a legacy of bloodshed and purification. This young girl grew up to be a woman and this woman became the beacon of light of admiration, worship, and martyrdom. Her name was Amilynn Silverhart, also widely known as “Lady Twilight” by those who adored her and those who despise her. Lady Twilight was and is still an example for many and her life was a guide to those who walk the path of ascension into the Holy Light. Many carved a sea of forsaken and scourge carcasses in her name, others seek the heretics amongst men to redeem their sinful ways with the cleansing flame of Light in her glory, and others still stood stalwart in self sacrifice in defense of what they held dear in her martyrdom. These many were brothers and sisters of a Holy Order built in her honor, The Order of Mithril Twilight, or more famously known simply as Mithril Twilight Order to the land of Azeroth and the hearts of those pure in faith. With “Our Lady’s Light” Brothers and Sisters of the Order endeavored to purify their world of the taint of undeath and restoring Lordaeron to its once lustrous and glorious past. They would of reached their goal until the blasphemous days of The Corruption…

Beginnings - Excerpt from the Order's Historical Summary

Part 1

The tale starts in the city of Lordaeron, Amilynn Twilight is visited by a gnome, Toddlehan, who was sent by Lord Uther Lightbringer to invite her to the celebrations and banquet for the return of Arthas from his campaign in Northrend. She suggests that Lord Lightbringer invite the minor Orders/Guilds for the celebrations specificly Lord Lightson's Lances of Light. The story then follows her as she dreams of when she was young child who survived the slaughtering of her village by Orcish Wolf Raiders. She lost her brother, father, and mother in that fight who tried to buy her some time to escape. She almosts gets killed by a lone wolf, but is rescued by a young squire. When the squire returns to the village with Amilynn, he promises her dying parents he would take care of her bounded by the dying fathers passing on his 2handed warhammer to the young squire. The squire reveals his name as Theobane Lightson. Amilynn woked up and recounted to herself her rise to a command rank within the Knights of the Silver Hand under Lord Uther Lightbringer. Due to the deaths of many Lordaerons soldiers and some amongst the Knights of The Silver Hand, she earned the position to replace the last commander through sheer valor and courage demonstrated throughout the short war and her past performance with the border skirmishes with the trolls. Althought she has no official noble titles, people still refer to her as 'Lady' Twilight.

Part II

Amilynn wakes up the next morning and heads to the celebration as Arthas had entered the Capitol city. As she heads to the main streets violence erupts and throngs of undead servants storms the city from every corner and shadow. She fights her way out of the city with a collection of guards and fellow Silver Hands Knights unable to make it to the castle to investigate what happened to the King. Outside the city, she meets up with Lord Theobane Lightson who now heads his Order after his father's retirement. He also after failing to make his way to the castle, retreated out of the city trying to save as many people and soldiers from many guilds and orders as possible. Together they regrouped with many other surviving units and orders south of the capitol trying to hold of the undead, but with no one in real command of the whole army of Lordaeron it proves ineffective and are forced to retreat after a large army of undead launched an offensive against them. Many died as they retreated for weeks towards the sea. The undead threatened to overtake them before they could reach the ships they managed to contact to evacuate them from Lordaeron. So, Lady Amilynn Twilight, Lord Lightson, and 2 scores of volunteers stayed behind to slow down the Undead's advance to buy the civilians, wounded, and other soldiers some time to escape. The battle was fierce with many casualties on the Lady Twilight's small force. Hard pressed, it looked grim for everyone against the tide of undead pushing them back. Everyone's energies expired, potions used up, everyone was expecting to die that night. But forunately and unfortunately, spurred on by the grisly death of an innocent, the guilt of failing to protect, Amilynn broke out into a furious divine rage. Focusing all her energies of her life, soul, and body she charged against the tidal wave of ghouls, skeletons, and abominations. Lord Lightson fighting against desperation and despair was inspired to fight on singing a song of the Holy Light that roused the surviving force into a spirited and powerful fighting force. One by one everyone joined their voices with the chorus as Lady Twilight carved a path through the undead sea. Men died, not with screams, but with the song of the Holy Light escaping their last breathe. Hours passed on as the roar of steel ran into the night until dawn had arrived. Lady Twilight's force had defeated the first wave of the UD army. Lord Lightson's hammer that Amilynn's father had given to him had broken in the battle, but he still fought on with using it as a parrying stick and a short shafted club. But the time they bought for the survivors, they paid with many lives, including the life of Lady Twilight, falling to the ground, blood smearing her pearl white armor. She smiled softly and closed her eyes one last time. Men wept and spoke of thanks and prayers to her soul. The few survivors collected the bodies of their comrades and made their way back to catch up with the others.

Part III

Lord Lightson, now called by all as Lord Endsong for the rousing song that brought the end of many Undead that day, brought Lady Twilight onto the ship ordering the priests to preserve her body as best they can. She could not be resurrected but there was a promise he made to her that he was determined to one day fullfill or die trying. When the survivors escaped to Azeroth, through the same route the survivors of Azeroth had escaped to Lordaeron, they spoke of their tales of the horrors of the Undead and the valor their soldiers had displayed to those that ruled there. In return for the honorary title of noblehood, the survivors vowed to serve them against all enemies especially the Undead. They added this vow, and many personal vows made by each soldier, to their list of promises. Thus, Lord Lightson, now Duke Endsong, called onto the surviving orders and guilds of Lordaeron to join together and form The Order of Mithril Twilight, in honor of Lady Twilight and her now legendary greatsword, Seraph-Mithril. Since that day, The Order of Mithril Twilight served the Alliance honorable and nobly against plots and incursion by the undead and the horde, rescuing those in need, and defending those whom are of the Alliance. However, they still vowed to one day return to their former home with new friends and retake what was stolen from them, at the same time end the enslavement of undeath that was cursed on their lost families, friends, and comrades, and ultimately to show the Great Betrayer, Arthas, the meaning of their Justice.

MITHRIL TWILIGHT ORDER’S FINAL SOLUTION

The Book

During a Sunday Mass at the Cathedral of Light, many men and women of The Order, their allies, and various other friends came to hear sermons and reaffirm their faith, there was an incident. Unbeknownst to those that attended the faith services, two women appeared in the crowd of the faithful blending in was it not for their suspicious nature and the taint they emitted from their foul presence. Blasting his way in, the Order’s ‘Tea Servant’ barged into the Cathedral, stirring a grand commotion and inciting absolute hysteria and outrage as not only was his presence a sacrilegious act but the thing he brought with him was utterly insufferable. Much of the details of what transpired was sealed away and kept a secret by command of Duke Theobane Endsong, Lord of the Order. In the aftermath, a book was placed into the servant’s possession, what it contained was also held an absolute secret, however The Inquisitors, the religious and fanatical chapter of the Order, decided after much debate that they should pursue the clues and suspicions provided. A detachment of the Order’s brethren went out escorting the servant on a mission to find an answer to their suspicions. This became written in the Order’s History as the Lost Mission. They never returned. Their fate an absolute mystery to this day, any clues to what their mission was and what may have happened is sealed away by Duke Endsong until the time is right.

Absolution for the Sinners

Around the same time as the Lost Mission, the Order’s highest commanders formulated an Absolution for the Sinners. The Sinners was the preferred name given to those who call themselves the Forsaken as those that chose to live the life of Undeath are those who chose to live in sin against the balance of life and the purity of the Light. It was an edict handed down from the top, valorous and fearless men and women steeled themselves with Holy Artifacts and Relics the Order could provide for them. This was the last Campaign. This was the Holy War. This was what all they lived for, The Final Solution.

Divine Edict: The Final Solution

Ever since the beginning, the Order amassed a large number of Holy Armor and Weapons, blessed with divinity and consecrated by the Light, a massive amount more was produced by brother craftsmen and sanctified by the faith and power of fellow holy priests and paladins. This was the time to use them. The Order’s forces marshaled itself and began it’s epic campaign to utterly obliterate all heresy in the face of their celestial Light. They prayed for their Lady’s Grace and their Lady’s Light to protect and guide them through out the horrors that will be their trial of conviction. For weeks, the Order decimated many of their hated enemies, many accursed adversaries were slain and put to the consecrating flame, The Sinner’s Absolution. All went well until they struck deeply into their nemesis’ territories, deep inside the lost plagued lands of Lordaeron. Order Forces under the command of the Duke and the Canoness were diverted by a screening enemy troops acting as bait, other Officers and Commanders were on the pursuit of scattered remnants of Forsaken units. The remaining Order’s Forces commanded by Lady Aine Lightson, Endsong’s young wife by political marriage, found itself separated. She saw the worse of what was to come that night. Much of the ensuing battle remained a mystery, it stretched on for days and bodies mountain into hills of carnage. It was a victory for the Order but a dearly costly one, the ranks were devastated with heavy losses and many missing in action, presumed dead under the heap of destroyed corpses of many undead. With insufficient men to carry on the campaign and many of their enemies eliminated, all Brothers and Sisters were ordered to return home to the Order’s Keep, thanking the Light and Lady Twilight for her hand in saving the Order from certain annihilation. However, there were odds things during the battles that they had not found an answer on; reports kept returning about an unknown dead female who’s body was found multiple times during the fighting with a large book clutched to chest. She was never found amongst the dead on the field afterwards and far fewer bodies of the Order’s brothers and sisters were found. Seraph-Mithril, Lady Twilight’s trusted Sword “Black-winged Blade of Mercy”, was lost during battle, assumed fallen with the champion who was chosen to wield her. It’s where about is currently unknown and it can not be touched much less wielded by those whom are not pure of the Light or living.

MITHRIL TWILIGHT CRUSADE

Immaculate

During the unending and tragic battle, Lady Aine Lightson's troops were pressed upon on all side by a tide swarming undead. Grim tears streaked down her face as she tried her hardest to save and command her comrades during the chaos. Exerting her utmost effort on giving her people the chance to endure and survive the battle for days without rest, she pour her heart out in prayer as she watch her brothers and sisters fall back gradually til only her and a fraction remain of her charge. The throngs of rotting corpses moving like an ocean wave seeped through the cavernous holes in their defenses and all hopes were dimmed, wiped out like a dead torch. Then, Light invaded the night sky, warmth glowed in the hearts of her stalwart brethren. and a majestic figure formed itself over Aine, both arms clasped over its chest with a graceful gaze upon the breaking armies of the undead. Bathing all in the battlefield with her spiritual light, Lady Twilight's soulful manifestation descended down upon Lady Aine, becoming one with her. Wings of white feathery ethereal energy spread from her, translucent against the sky, she step forward and chanted a divine incantation. She sung her heartfelt song and raised her weapon and lead a charge with her fellow brothers and sisters against the crumbling wall of their wretched enemies, reminiscent of the final act made by Lady Twilight some years ago. Her spirit imbued itself upon Lady Aine and strongly with three others that will eventually be known as the Crusaders.

Broken Wings

Demoralized and seeking atonement for failing to save so many of their brethren, the Order began to lose its way and its cohesiveness. Men and women sulk about the Keep, staring at empty bunkers and belongings of lost comrades, and seeking answers on what to do. Duke Endsong sat in his chambers for long periods of time, his grief kept in by a stonewall of mental discipline but still must cope with so many losses of good people. The Order was at a stagnant standstill, unable to move forward, unable to let go of what they lost, and unable to find the heart to move on. But, Lady Aine woke with a revelation, something she felt that was passed down by Lady Twilight when she descended down upon her body. She called the other three some days later who also shared part of this divine revelation and soon they spread what they learned to all of the Order. They incited their fellow brethren with inspired speeches and words of guidance knowing full well this is the hand of their martyred Lady, giving her faithful comrades a good push and waking up. Valor and Righteousness enflamed the hearts of many and word quickly spread through out the land. The fight is not over, not yet.

The Reformation

Following the Revelation, the Order underwent what would be known as "The Reformation". During this period Duke Endsong and Lady Shepchild pulled some strings and took up positions within the hierarchy of the Church in order to provide greater support and assistance behind the scenes to the Order. Endsong's young wife, Lady Aine, takes over the Order for her husband after serving under his command in battle and in marriage. Proving herself to be a capable commander and dutiful wife as well as admired for her similar likeness in compassion and merciful retribution to that of Amilynn "Lady Twilight" Silverhart, she becomes the next Canoness of the Order and begins an age of change to heal the wound of their losses with the Duke's full authority, this period was known as "The Reformation".

One of her first acts was to call upon a new Crusade, a "Crusade of Redemption", to recover or free fallen brothers and sisters from the corruption of undeath that had taken them as well as to discover the cause of this corruption and to destroy it. To emphasize this new purpose the Order was renamed Mithril Twilight Crusade, simply known to all through out the land as "The Crusade". Word quickly spread, men and women of the Eastern Kingdom flooded to the call of a Holy War against the desecration and acts of horror by The Legion and their allies. The cry for champions resounded along the hills and mountains and across the sea, even reaching a few curious residents of Darnassus to dash to the call of The Crusade. Many young and old of the cloth swelled their ranks with thoughts of redemption for the lost lambs of light that became The Legion, hearts blazed with flames of divine faith, and spirits blessed with the grace of "Our Lady's Light" as they rally to the call of The Crusade.

Her other acts include a new devotion to a more refined faith of the Holy Light, the more fanatical and militant arm of the Light. Cautiously condoned by The Church, Canoness Aine Lightson wrote three basic Canons in which all other writings of the Crusade and purpose are based upon.

Three Canons of The Crusader

The Canon of Redemption
When one is lost to the darkness, let ye return them through destruction or conversion.

The Revelation of Redemption
Salvation is given by bringing the Light, be it their savior or their end.

The Canon of Judgement
When one stands in light and darkness, let ye be the divider of truth and lies.

The Revelation of Judgement
Salvation is given only when ye knows whom to give it to.

The Canon of Mercy
When one depraves itself in darkness, let ye end it's empty existance.

The Revelation of Mercy
Salvation is given to free one who lives in suffering of a lightless state.

MITHRIL TWILIGHT LEGION

The Corruption

Revenant, someone holy that died and brought back, it was what she called herself, the pale figure of a woman clutching a large dust encrusted and crimson ancient book. Dead eyes, a window into her soul that inhabited the facsimile of life, she recalled nothing of herself before her existence as one of the damned and that emptiness showed in her eyes. What motivated her and what her true goal was kept to herself, always the puppeteer behind the shadowy curtain. Her connection with the book she held to her like a treasured child is unknown, but she is never seen without it, how she end up with it maybe all revealed in time. What clues that can be pieced together to form a vague idea of what happened during the battle and why she was there only gives a glimpse of her power. A man or woman of any race, devout in their faith of the Holy Light is practically immune to being turned to into one of the damned. However, what happened in the aftermath of the battles contradict that fact. Corpses of fallen brothers and sisters shaking itself free of the mound of corpses with empty eyes and walking off into East as if in a dream state trying to find consciousness.

Three Apostles of Blasphemy

As the shambling bodies of once great holy warriors marched it way to the east, they were accompanied by other lifeless animated bodies from elsewhere, all under a spell unaware that their bodies were moving without their will. As dusk approached these unwilling bodies congregated in an abandoned church with none other than Revenant at the pulpit laying the Book down before her and chanting hymns of heresy as she read on quietly. 3 heads exploded into a fountain of glistening blood, their bodies quickly turned upside down and the stump of their necks saturated the creaky dusty old wood floor of the church with scarlet ink of their blood. With these bodies Revenant magically drew great symbols and large marks and cryptic writings from the book onto the church floor, a pentagram formed itself, drawing itself into the entirety of the building. A dark crimson mist overcame the room, droplets of red from the floor invaded all the bodies. These bodies twitched, signs of intelligence and consciousness returning to their silent faces. Some appeared to resist others succumbed to it without challenge as the crimson mist invaded their pores and into their hearts, mind, and soul. The three headless corpse dragged itself to Revenant’s flank, the mist seeping wildly into the stump of their neck and finally their missing heads were reformed but with something more sinister hidden behind their faces. Still reading, Revenant turned around and read a passage from a page in the Book to each of the three, marking them with a symbol on their chest written only in shadow as the faintly cast light around the symbol scattered away. These became known as the Three Apostles of Blasphemy: Contempt, Manipulation, and Apathy. The forceful corruption of so much Holy power was needed to create the Three and to convert once great men and women into tools of sin. The Three were embodiments of the principle anti-thesis of the Holy Light and would tear their way through those of such a weak faith. To her disdain however, there were bodies that was unsuccessfully converted and she had them stored away until they can be corrupted body and soul. To this day she seek more Holy men and women to corrupt to enhance her power and to fill the ranks of her army, the greater their Holy power and Faith, the more she can feed from and use them.

Principles of Blasphemy

The Principle of Contempt
Decadence is the way of the world; those who do cannot aid you are not worth saving.

The Lesson of Contempt
Exploit the exploitable, leave the rest to rot.

The Principle of Manipulation
The mind is a frail thing. If a creature leaves itself vunerable, seize the opportunity.

The Lesson of Manipulation
Take advantage of the meek; do not become meek yourself.

The Principle of Apathy
The calls of the dying may distract you from your purpose, and you cannot save them.

The Lesson of Apathy
Emotion hampers progress.

With these beliefs engraved into the souls of each of the corrupted, they became resistant to the power of the Light. Seeing as the Order once where many of these newly created Sinners provided the host of the bodies and power to enable Revenant to form such an army and her unexplained utter hatred for the Order and it’s principles, she sought its utter destruction and raise a greater army. To what cause? Only time will tell. She can only not help but smile wickedly in the poetic irony in her plans.

MITHRIL TWILIGHT LEGION’S STRUCTURE

Camarilla Hereticus – The ruling body formed by Revenant, imparted with her will and power to maintain control over the whole Legion. Some of them known for their unrivaled harshness and cruel enforcement of their leader’s will and their dedication is only on par with their sadistic sense of satisfaction of carrying out their work upon the Legion’s enemy. Under the absolute rule of Revenant, the Three Apostles are in command, running each their own individual chapters in which they have direct command. Under each Apostles is a Curate in which they serve their master in the capacity of an officer doing much of the field work should the Apostles chose not to take field command themselves.

Chapter: The Exterminatus – The most foully corrupted members of the Legion make their home here. Based in a desecrated church they labor away in finding ways to utterly destroy their counterpart in the Crusade, The Inquisitors, and turn them into one of the sinners. Their mission entails sending out Exterminatus agents to convert the weak willed living into worshipping the heretic Principles of Blasphemy and use them for their own ends. They see their undeath as a gift and seek to spread it on the world. They are principally made up of Shadow Priests and Warlocks and is ruled by Contempt.

Chapter: The Arcani – The intelligence gathering arm of the Legion. Composed of mostly of rogues that act as agents to do espionage, sabotage, assassinations, and counter-agent missions. They are in a silent but deadly war with their counterpart in the Crusade, Wolves of Mercy. They are ruled by Apathy.

Chapter: The Sinners – named itself as a defiant mockery to the Order’s derogatory name towards those that chose to live the existence of undeath. Generally composed of many different undead classes. This Chapter is the standing Army that will mobilize on command to snuff all life in its path. Manipulation is in command of this chapter as well as the Slaves he may use as cannon fodder or other tasks as he chooses (currently not recruiting slaves).

MITHRIL TWILIGHT LEGION’S RANKS

Lost One – (Trial Member) Lost Ones must undergo the recruitment process before they can become a full and regular member. Failure to pass the process needed will result in expulsion.

Rebourne - (Member) Rank and file member, expected to follow the RP concepts, rules provided, and participate in events and forum discussions but not required to be held to any serious responsibility lest the individual chose to (which proves the members dedication and desire to help with the guild, thus considerations for promotions are given).

Blasphemer - Access to Officer Chat, Listen Only. Tasked with assisting with the more detailed ground work of Officer’s tasks and events.
