I just beat the game as a Merc (although I left quite a few things left to be done, ran through Ch5). I want to play through as a mage next, and want to have at least some sort of basic combat ability. My question is, would it be better to train 1 or 2 handed for a mage? _________________ Paladin Rithe |

Personally, I prefer one-handed weapons, because they are available from the beginning, when you need a sword the most since you can't use runes yet. And of course good 1h-blades are available sooner than good 2h-weapons. So you'll always have a back-up weapon that does an acceptable amount of DMG.
It is just important to train your combat skills before becoming a mage, because after the test of fire training combat skills will cost twice the LPs... _________________ "With sword in hand I now stand on my enemies' land." - Immortal: Beyond The North Waves

I reccomend don't train much in fighting skills, 'cause your mana will be really important in the start of the game.
I'm a mage too and I have only 50 in dex. This makes it easier to pickpocket and I can use tha rapier (50 dex) |
