Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion - Early Mods

Despite Oblivion being less than a week old there are some useful mod efforts already, so I thought we'd take a quick look at a selection.
<br>
<br>A must-have in my book is the excellent <a href="http://www.elderscrolls.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=295081&st=0" target="_blank">Improved UI Mods with No Markers 2.01</a>. This modifies the UI to fit 12 inventory lines instead of the usual 6, provides a bigger map and allows the compass markers to be switched off if desired (also available <a href="http://www.tessource.net/files/file.php?id=1825" target="_blank">here</a> if you don't want to read the details on the forum).
<br>
<br>There are a bunch of .ini tweaks out there but the options are complex - this <a href="http://www.elderscrolls.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=283055" target="_blank">thread</a> discusses some tweaks to the grass density that worked wonders for me.
<br>
<br>Moving on, <a href="http://www.elderscrolls.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=283055" target="_blank">change your race without starting over</a> and a <a href="http://www.elderscrolls.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=297892&st=0" target="_blank">level scaling mod</a>. Take a wander through <a href="http://www.tessource.net/" target="_blank">TES Source</a> for more. As always, read the details carefully and backup any files that will be replaced files just in case.
