For both Gothics, dexterity is something that replaces strength with bow/crossbow. And the damage of bow/crossbow is dexterity + its own damage. But wait a second, what is dexterity? Litterally, dexterity means "skill" but in Gothics, it does not have the same meaning.
To wield a stronger bow/crossbow, a person must have better strength. And the damage should come from the bow and the the skill to handle bow/crossbow( critical point ). |

You need to be skilled enough to use a better bow else you won't be able to handle it.
If you're skilled with a bow, you do more damage. Simple. |

Skill is how you handle the bow. And in gothic it is similar to critical point.
Similarly, skill to handle a sword is also learned by critical point. |
