Does anyone know all the possible food combinations in the game? I've been trying quite a few, but can't seem to get anything to work. I also can't find anything about it on any websites, even this one. All I can do is the apple pie, and I think my character's getting sick of the same diet all the time
any help would be much appreciated |

Welcome to the boards first off. This site does have everything you ever wanted to know about Arx. Go to the Hosted Site for Arx, then to support files, then download the PDF file. You will find all the food combos there with a lot of other good info as well. The list is too long to post here, not when you can get it from the file. Good eating. _________________ =Member of the Nonflamers Guild=

thanks a lot for the info and the welcome. I downloaded the PDF file though and I'm afraid you're going to think I'm really lazy but... what page is it on? cos I've scan-read all 80 pages about 3 times and I can't find the recipes, all I've seen is the 'food' section which basically just tells you what it says in the manual can ya help me here? thanks again
EDIT - just looked again with the proverbial fine-toothed comb and still can't find any recipes besides the basic 'cook fish' and 'make apple pie' sort, are you sure they're in there? |

Pages 20, 21 and 68 and 70. That is all you can do with food. Limited and somewhat boring, other than the amount of health and mana you can restore is higher or lower depending on what you eat and if it is cooked and how. That is why pies are better than the individual items. Sounds like you found it all. Sorry it wasn't what you were expecting. Note the use of some food items on your weapons and armor will cause magic effects as well. _________________ =Member of the Nonflamers Guild=

yeah, I was afraid of that. Considering that in the manual it says 'There are far more combinations but you will have to experiment for yourself' I was expecting tons of cool possibilities like vegetable stews, chicken & mushroom pies, cheese sandwiches, stuff like that. Ah well... I'm still loving this game though, best RPG I've played in years |

I agree. Try wine and other stuff mixed with some of the foods. I didn't mess with it much, but wine in the bread may be different. lol And some of the powders to make potions may work. Let us know. _________________ =Member of the Nonflamers Guild=

Wah-ha-ha-ha! Thank you, you guys, for giving me the 'feel good' chuckle of the day, after I read this thread. --- and I mean that in a good way. Here's the picture that came to my mind as I read through--
Battle weary adventurer, heavy armor, sword in hand, other hand still smoking after casting a fireball recently, sits down on a boulder after thrusting the point of his blade into some nearby dirt. Pulls out a fish from his pack, devours it, washes it down with a deep satisfying gulp of wine, wiping his mouth by tearing off a piece of his dead enemies' loincloth-
Hearing some conversation, his blade springs into his hand in readiness- As the source of the sound draws near, our hero hears-- " What do you think, a little more blueberry in the pie?
"Oh, no, I think that would over-do it, but these rat ribs are just fab-yoooo-lous when srved with a slice of cheese and some dom perignon! Let's go and visit Greu and see if he has any recipes for cooking those rat men. They can be rather tough to eat, unless you tenderize them by marinating them in wine. "Oh, yes, and unless you sprinkle the big hog with water lilly powder, that pork will give you the runs."
Our hero goes back to tearing the flesh off a freshly plucked, plain chicken.
