No question is silly! This is a forum where we ask questions and get answers, no matter how weird it is!
The mercenaries are not against the city of Khorinis in the way that they are not planning to attack it. Actually the leader of mercs (Lee) is a friend to the leader of Khorinis (Lord Hagen). Yes, some of them fight against each other, but no full-scale war.
Also, if you join the mercs you can go into Khorinis without any problem. |

Also, that's why you should plan on playing the game at least three times -- once as a member of each faction: Militia/Paladin, Merc/Dragon Hunter, and Novice/Mage. The quests and strategies are quite different for each.
Then, if you really like the game (like most of us on these boards), you'll find other excuses to play again and again ("Hmmm, what if I try playing a Mage that goes for Strength high enough to swing the Dragon Slayer?" and other silly questions). _________________ imposterAZ

It's a little harder than that. The key ingredient, Kings Sorrel, is in short supply, And the Dragon Root isn't all that plentiful either.
No matter what type of character I play, I almost always learn Alchemy so I can produce Dex and/or Strength potions. _________________ imposterAZ

Could be. When you're done with your current game, how about giving it a try and let us now if it really is possible or not.
Also, are you playing basic G2 or NotR? That would make a big difference in this discussion, too. _________________ imposterAZ

Ah, now I see. In basic G2 you get more than enough EPs to train up to 100+ strength even if you are a Mage. In NotR, the escalating cost of training and the adjustments to weapons (where the Dragon Slicer now needs 180 Strength, or something close) make this much tougher to do. It might not be impossible, but will be much more difficult. _________________ imposterAZ

Just about everyone has Kngs sorrel in their inventory in chapther 5. Its the Dragonroot plants that are few and far between. |
