Max, you've got to be in the best shape of your life to still be able to strike a pose like that!! You look better than Dick Clark! Whats your secret, Taebo?

Anyway, Im 30 and last time I heard of a game called wizardy it brings back memories of Games being sold on 5.14 floppies and packaged in small sleeves with the instrction manual acting as a box while the whole thing was shrink-wrapped in cellophane.
But I've already over played the real CRPG of 2001 (Gothic) to death so I figured I'd try something new

Welcome aboard, Shrapnel..good to see another fellow from the Gothic boards.. you'll find a much less active group here..we don't have quite the numbers of the Gothic boards..but, I think we're gaining ppl every now and then.. Anyway.. I found this game to be (well...I AM finding it to be.. ) better than Gothic in some ways, and lacking in others..definitely 2 different games!! I enjoy the party based system very much though! For the first few nights, I kept wondering where in the Monastery I'd find the sleeper...

Thanks, I am going to really push myself to finish off Summoner and start this game up. Couple of things though, I saw some screen shots, I dont see any 3rd person views (a la Gothic)...
Is this game all 1st person?
Im at work now and d/l the demo (God bless the IT industry) gonna see what this game's all about

Correct..no 3rd person views in W8, only 1st person..

If you've got the demo, and decide to get the whole game...consider yourself warned; I though Gothic was addictive....but it's NOTHING compared to this!

You must understand, though, that W8 gamers should be pretty hard core RPGers..that is, there's a lot of details to micromanage here..which armor should go on who? How to balance the heavy weight to the armor bonus? Which weapon to use on which flank? etc, etc..

Many ppl get overwhelmed by this early on..so, be prepared!!

Forget the overview vision, instead get ready for some really immersive gameworld experience which the 1.person view will give you!

Anyway, for the record, I am 26 years old, born in 1975. I've played RPG's since I got Dungeon Master (1983). I can't really consider what I played prior to that on the spectrum RPG's. (although the Hobbit really had numbers going on in the background)

DOH, *slaps forehead*. I somehow mixed '83 with '88. (The year I got my Atari ST).

Hi, I am 37, Mother of 3 little kids and I would like to have more time to play Wiz8. I started with Wiz6 and bought Wiz7 as soon it was out. I wonder how many females are around?

Hi,Galadriel: I'm no female either, but despite that, can I still greet you welcome!
I know 3 lovely kids can't be beaten by anything, but you will surely miss a good RPG if you miss Wizardry 8! The feeling from the old Wizardry games is still in W8, but in a much nicer version!

I'm here
I'm 23 and I never played a Wizardry game before Wiz8. I was more into the Ultimas. I liked that top-down view, although the first person view isn't too bad either. It did take a little getting used to though.

Hi. I'm 31. I started with Wiz 6 in 91. Then went to Wiz 7 and later Wiz Gold. I replayed all of the Wiz games during the long wait 'til Wiz 8. Was thrilled to import the party I developed with Wiz 6 and 7. Was disappointed that the Bard no longer had spells, but now find the Bard my most valuable charecter. Enought rambling. Wiz 8 is the best game I've plaid in a Very long time.
